Local track and field

The District Track meet for Saturday, May 9 at Tongue River has been rescheduled due to weather to Friday, May 8, 2015.

Students need to wear their warm-up uniform to Mass at 8:00 and leave immediately after Mass.

The meet starts at 10:00AM on the Tongue River track field.

Troopers and Jets get back into action this weekend / Rockies and D-Backs play two today

TROOPERS / JETS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are scheduled to open their baseball season Sunday weather permitting. The first games of the season where rained out and the prospect for that happening again this week is a very good possibility.

Head coach Ben Phillips says the players are ready to get the season started.

And he says to stay focused they are practicing with more creativity.

The 2015 Stockman Bank Magic City Classic Tournament U14 Team CHAMPIONS from this past weekend. They beat Magic City 3-2 in the Championship match.

Legerski / Bohl talk football and hoops / Rockies / D-Backs rained out play again tonight

UW FOOTBALL / BASKETBALL - Last week we heard from Wyoming Cowboys basketball coach Larry Shyatt today we here from Cowgirl basketball coach Joe Legerski and football coach Craig Bohl.

Both attended last week's Sheridan Cowboy Joe club function, the Cowboy football team is just coming off of spring football and Bohl talks about the 2015 Cowboys.

The Cowgirls head into the off season with scoring issues going into 2015 and Legerski says the preparation anymore is done year round.

Former Bronc golfer Kamrin Allen competes for Pokes at MWC championships

CHEYENNE – The University of Wyoming men’s golf team shot a 14-over 298 in the final round of the Mountain West Championship on Sunday in Tucson, Arizona. The Cowboys finished eighth in the 11-team field.

San Diego State won the title with a final score of 17-under 835. University of Nevada Las Vegas’ Kurt Kitayama won the individual title with an 11-under 202 in the three-round tournament.

Sheridan Generals End Season Strong—Sending Two to the CNFR

The Sheridan College Rodeo Team will be sending two athletes to the College National Finals in Casper, Wyoming held in June.

Tioni Erickson will be competing in the goat tying and Tayte Clark will be competing in the saddle bronc riding. Erickson also was awarded the Women’s Rookie as she was the freshman who earned the most points throughout the season.

TRACK AND FIELD - The 2015 Wyoming track classic was be held in Casper Friday three Sheridan county athletes did very well.

Gabby Edeen was 2nd in both 100 and 200 meters, Xiomara Robinson was 4th at 3200 meters and Big Horn Lady Ram Baily Bard was 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles and for the Broncs JT Vrieswyk was 4th in the 1600 meters.
