Heat control second half in win over Pacers

MIAMI (AP) - The Miami Heat followed a rather ugly half with a very good one in taking a two-games-to-one lead over the Indiana Pacers in the NBA's Eastern Conference finals.

Lady Bronc Soccer to play for the state championship / State Track continues / Troopers fall at Gillette

STATE SOCCER - The Sheridan Lady Bronc soccer team will play for the 4-A state soccer title today.

They beat Gillette in the semi finals Friday 3-0 and will play conference rival Cheyenne East for the state title.

TRACK / FIELD - State track and field finishes up today in Casper The Lady Broncs are in 9th place the Broncs are 12th.

In 2-A the Big Horn girls are 6th the boys are 17th, the TR girls are 15th and the boys 14th.

In the 1-A team race the Arvada/Clearmont girls are in 15th place.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Troopers dropped a 9-1 game against Gillette Friday night.

STATE SOCCER - The 4-A East dominated play on the first day of the state soccer tournament as seven of eight teams advanced to the semi finals.

In the girls bracket the Sheridan Lady Broncs beat West number one seed Casper Kelly Walsh 1-0 they will play Gillette in the semi finals today, the other semi final has Laramie playing Cheyenne East

Three of the boys East teams advanced to the semi finals yesterday with Green River being the lone team from the west to make it to the winners bracket.

Former Cowboy QB Brett Smith cut by Tampa Bay

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers added four players to its roster Wednesday.The moves necessitated the release of a few players.

One victim of those cuts is former Wyoming Cowboys quarterback Brett Smith.Smith signed with the Bucs after going undrafted on May 10.

LARAMIE, Wyo. (May 22, 2014) – Fourteen University of Wyoming track and field members have qualified to compete in the NCAA West Preliminary on May 29-31 in Fayetteville, Ark., the governing body announced Thursday.

The eight Cowboy and six Cowgirl contenders tie the program’s highest total ever, as Wyoming sent the same number in 2012.

STATE TRACK AND FIELD - The all class Wyoming state track and field championships start today at Kelly Walsh high school in Casper.

Sheridan high school Head coach Art Baures says now is the time for the athletes to put forth their best performances of the season.

LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Sheridan Lady Bronc soccer team will be in Rock Springs tomorrow to open the state soccer championships.

They take on Casper Kelly Walsh in the first round tomorrow morning at 9:00.

The Lady Broncs dropped two games at the regional last week after pre qualifying for state and even though they lost twice Head coach Mallery Marshall says they got some good work done in preparation for the state tournament.

And Marshall says the team is in good spirits as they get ready to play tomorrow.

SPRING SPORTS CULMINATING EVENTS - The Sheridan Lady Bronc soccer team will be in Rock Springs Thursday to open the state soccer championships. They take on Casper Kelly Walsh in the first round Thursday morning at 9:00.

The all class Wyoming state track and field championships start Thursday at Kelly Walsh high school in Casper.

The school year and spring sports season is coming to a close Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian says they've had a good year and look ahead to even better things in the 2014-15 school year.
