The 17th annual Big horn mountain trail run is underway finishers will cross the line throughout the afternoon at Scott park in Dayton, tomorrow morning organizers will host a breakfast for all the competitors and volunteers in Grinnel Plaza starting at 8 am.

The elite runners are on the course this morning as the 100 mile event of the big horn trail run got started in the tongue river canyon. Last summer course conditions were so tough organizers had to change the route of the race.

Following back to back seasons winning the 2-A girls volleyball and basketball state titles head coach Mike Daley stepped down as coach this spring. Last night the district one school board made it official both programs have new head coaches the next volleyball coach for the Lady Rams is a familiar name in Sheridan county.

The Sheridan Troopers had their double header with Spearfish South Dakota rained out last night they'll make those games up at a later date. The troopers played a double header with Douglas in their last games on Saturday when they split a pair. Tomorrow are set to head over to Cody for road games.

The Wyoming girls and boys basketball teams played much better in Billings than they did Friday night in Sheridan.

Sports for Saturday 06/13/09

The Sheridan media benefit golf tournament raised over 11 thousand dollars for the Sheridan public arts Committee. Golfers were met with perfect playing conditions at Kendrick golf course the winning team was Pat Johnson, Justin Coon, Tom Mayer and Steve Rucki. The money raised yesterday will to purchasing two new sculptures to be located at the new early childhood education center.
