BRONC / LADY BRONC GOLF COACHES HONORED

Sheridan high school Head golf coach Larry Martoglio has been selected class 4A boys golf coach of the year by the Wyoming Coaches Association

Bronc/Lady Bronc assistant golf coach Jim Friessen was also selected class 4A assistant golf coach of the year by the Wyoming Coaches Association

2011 SHERIDAN ELKS HOOPS SHOOT SHOOT RESULTS

The Sheridan Elks Hoop Shoot Sunday. PE teachers at area schools (Buffalo, AC, BH, TR, Sheridan)held shoot-offs to determine school champions and 44 of those
champions showed up at the Dome.

Six champions were crowned and earned the right to advance to the Northwest District Hoop Shoot on Jan. 29. also to be held at the Hoffman Dome.

The District Hoop Shoot will include the top 6 free throw
shooters from Sheridan, Cody, Powell, Greybull, and Worland.

The Sheridan Elks Hoop Shoot winners were: (1st place

BRONC WRESTLERS IN ACTION TONIGHT AT HOME AGAINST BUFFALO

BRONC WRESTLING - The Sheridan Bronc wrestlers have a dual at home with Buffalo tonight varsity matches start at 6:00.

The Broncs are coming off a third place finish at the Douglas invitational Head coach Terry Burgess says they had a pretty good weekend.

They dual Buffalo tonight and host "Senior night" as well Burgess expects it should be a pretty good match-up.

The Broncs will be on the road this weekend at the "Cowboy" invitational up in Miles City, Montana.

WYOMING LOSES STARTING QB

Now former UW Quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Starting quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels
has decided to leave Wyoming.
UW coach Dave Christensen announced Monday that Carta-Samuels
was transferring.
In an e-mail to media, Carta-Samuels cited unspecified personal
reasons that are best for his growth and success. He says he has
enrolled in a junior college that he didn't identify and leaves
with a heavy heart.
Christensen says in a statement released by the university that
Carta-Samuels informed him of his decision on Monday.

THE BRONC AND LADY BRONC BASKETBALL SWEPT ALL SIX VARSITY GAMES IN RIVERTON OVER THE WEEKEND

BRONC LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - Lady Bronc Head coach Derek Bissitt says it was good to get three more wins on the road in Riverton.

This week the Competition gets better with Billings Skyview Friday and a road game at Natrona county Saturday.

And with playing teams with more size they'll want to put a lot of pressure on both.

The Broncs are now 8-2 overall Head coach Mike Ibach says the Broncs did a nice job in Riverton.

Bison sports weekend review

The Bison sports teams faired well in competition this weekend.
The No. 1-ranked Bison boys' basketball team won both of their contests, defeating third-ranked Wheatland 69-58 on the road Friday night.
Aaron Tyser had 29 points for the Bison, and Casey Esponda added 20.
Saturday the Bison hosted Thermopolis, beating the Bobcats 79-49.
Buffalo is now 8-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
The Lady Bison split their games, dropping a heartbreaker Friday at home 47-44 to the Lady Bulldogs from Wheatland.

Both the Sheridan Bronc and Lady Bronc Basketball teams had convincing wins Friday night against Riverton, at a tournament in Riverton. Kayla Woodward led the Lady Broncs with 21 as they easily cruised to a 76-40 win. The Broncs won pretty handily as well, they defeated Riverton 69-42. Both teams will play Evenston today.
