Pokes fall in CBI Finals Opener / Trooper Baseball Opens 2017 Spring Training Monday / SHS Soccer Starts Conference Play Friday

SOCCER - The Sheridan high school soccer teams open conference play this week with games against Laramie Friday and Cheyenne South Saturday the Lady Broncs play at home the Broncs travel. Varsity start time is 6:00 Friday night and at noon Saturday.

TRACK AND FIELD - The Sheridan high school track teams are off from competition this week for spring break. They resume the season Friday, April 7th at the Queen city invitational in Spearfish, South Dakota.

TROOPER BASEBALL - Sheridan American Legion baseball will hold their first outdoor practice at Thorne-Rider stadium Monday.

Sheridan College Rodeo Team had a promising showing at the seventh stop of the regular season. At the conclusion on the weekend, the Men’s Team remained 1st in the regional standings with a 920 point lead over Gillette College. The Women’s Team is gradually gaining ground as they currently sit 4th in the regional standings, 689 points out of second.

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams played in Buffalo Friday night both teams came away with victories the Lady Broncs won 4-1 while the Broncs shut the Bison out 2-0 both teams open conference play this week with games against Laramie Friday and Cheyenne South Saturday the Lady Broncs play at home the Broncs travel.

TRACK AND FIELD - The Sheridan high school track teams competed at an invitational in Cody both teams had several top ten finishes and several event victories a complete list of results can be found below on the sports page.

Bronc / Lady Bronc Soccer at Buffalo / Track and Field at Cody / Cowboy Basketball Opens the CBI Final series Monday Night

SHS SOCCER / TRACK AND FIELD - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams will play in Buffalo tonight and the Sheridan high school track teams will compete at an invitational in Cody tomorrow.

TROOPERS / JETS BASEBALL - Sheridan American Legion baseball will held it's annual player / parent meeting last night the Troopers will hold their first outdoor practice at Thorne-Rider stadium April 3rd

The Troopers open the season April 15th with a double header in Billings the home opener is scheduled for May 7th.

Cowboys Advance to the "CBI" Finals / Doubleday Sports Update / American Legion Baseball Meets Tonight

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Wyoming basketball Cowboys beat Utah Valley in the semi finals of the CBI tournament last night 71-68 they will now play Coastal Carolina in a best of three championship series that will begin in South Carolina Monday night the Cowboys will host game two next week on Wednesday and an if necessary game would be played Friday March 31st.

Cowboy Hoops v Utah Valley in the CBI Semifinal Tonight / Doubleday Open House #2 Tonight

COWBOY HOOPS - The Wyoming basketball Cowboys will host Utah valley in the semifinals of the CBI tournament tonight and we will have the game live for you on KWYO and 87.7 FM pregame starts at 6:30 with the tip at 7:00.

The "CBI" is down to it's final four the other semi final has Coastal Carolina playing at the University of Illinois-Chicago the two winners will meet in a best of three game series to determine a tournament champion.

Sheridan College Rodeo Results

This past weekend the Sheridan College Rodeo Team headed to Gillette, WY for the first spring rodeo.

The team was anxious to get things going for the spring and we had a number of individuals that did very well.

The men’s team won the team title with 585 points. Chance Ames won the bareback riding with an outstanding short round ride of 78 points. He was followed by Hunter Carlson who was a consistent 72 in each round, Kyle Bloomquist placed 3rd in the short round and 4th in the average. Trig Clark split the 1st round in the bareback riding with a 74 point ride.
