American Legion Baseball pre season workouts continue indoors / Bronc / Lady Bronc track and field opens 2016 season tomorrow / High school soccer season opens next week

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - Sheridan American Legion baseball will hold their player / parent meeting Monday evening at Thorne-Rider stadium. The meeting will start at 5:30, all Jets and Trooper players and parents should attend, here's Trooper Head coach Ben Phillips.

The indoor practice facility is very nice and a good place for the players to get a jump start to the preseason being able to workout even if the weather is questionable.

SC Rodeo recruit signs

Kyle Bloomquist from Raymond, MN is a new recruit that will be attending Sheridan College next fall.Head coach Marc Gilkerson says we are excited to have him on our team he is a multiple event cowboy.

Bloomquist is a 3x National Junior High Finals rodeo qualifier in the bull riding and team roping. He is also a 3x National High School Rodeo qualifier in the bareback and saddle bronc riding.

Kyle will be majoring in Ag Business. He has a strong work ethic and is very dedicated to school and rodeo we are looking forward to having him on the General’s team.

4-A All-state basketball / Troopers / Jets baseball

4-A ALL-STATE HOOPS - Three basketball players from Sheridan high school made the 4-A all-state this season they are Seniors Blake Godwin for the Broncs and Kaycen Townsend and Robbi Ryan from the Lady Broncs, Ryan was all-state in all four of her seasons with the Lady Broncs.

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - Sheridan American Legion baseball will hold their player / parent meeting Monday evening at Thorne-Rider stadium.

The meeting will start at 5:30, all Jets and Trooper players and parents should attend.

Mike McCaffery takes over as the program's General manager this year, he says the it's all begun this spring with some up grades to one of the best ball parks in our region.

We will all get a chance to see the finished project when the Troopers play their home opener late next month.

Spring track, soccer, golf, tennis and baseball get ready to launch

POST SEASON HIGH SCHOOL HOOP AWARDS - Class 4-A Wyoming high school basketball coaches have made their selections for all-conference and all-state teams those teams are expected to be announced either today or tomorrow Sheridan high school should be well represented on each team.

The only post season basketball award announced so far was the Wyoming girls Gatorade player of the year, that came out last Thursday as Lady Bronc Senior Robbi Ryan won the award for the 2nd consecutive year.

SC Team Roping school coming up this weekend

Sheridan college is hosting a Bobby Harris Team Roping School this weekend at the Sheridan college AgriPark arena.

Bobby Harris is a World Champion Team Roper, a multiple time NFR qualifier, and a Wyoming native.

The school will run from 9:00am to 5:00pm Saturday and Sunday with 17 students, most of them from the local area.

SHS Activities Director Don Julian announces spring sports parent meeting

The Sheridan high school spring sport parent meeting will be on Wednesday the 16th at 6:30 pm in the SHS Auditorium.

This is for parents of soccer and track athletes. There will be a lot of good information discussed that night and we are hoping for good attendance.

Lady Bronc hoop season ends Saturday in a loss against Cheyenne East / Bronc basketball program in search for a new head coach / Spring sports season opens this weekend

LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Lady Broncs dropped two straight to end their basketball season. the got into the semi finals and lost against Natrona county and lost 71-57 against Cheyenne East in the 3rd place game Saturday, after that game Head coach Jessica Pickett said the Lady Broncs gave it all they had.

Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian attended all three games in Casper as was very proud of how the Lady Broncs represented the school and the community.
