COWBOY FOOTBALL - The hammer came down in Laramie Sunday as Wyoming f0ootball coach Dave Christensen was fired after the Pokes went 5-7 on the season following Saturday's 35-7 loss at Utah state.
Christensen's five year record at Wyoming was 27-35 overall and 16-23 in league play. He did take the Pokes to two New Mexico bowl games winning one.
UW Athletic Director Tom Burman issued a statement saying " the football program has not achieved at the level of success we expect"
SC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college basketball teams swept all four games at the Lions club tournament and this week open league play.
The Lady Generals have won three in a row after beating Malmstrom air force base and Eastern Wyoming.
The Generals picked up victories over Dakota college and Laramie county and ran their record to 11-2.
Head coach Steve smiley says the generals are playing well right now and good team chemistry has been a big factor in their early success.
And now the season begins for real with two conference road games this week at Western Wyoming Wednesday and Gillette Saturday.
Then it's on to finals week and the holiday break and smiley says they want the players to finish strong on the court and in the classroom.
BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan high school basketball teams begin the regular season Friday when they play Green River at 5:45 and 7:30. we will have both games live on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM.
BH BASKETBALL - The Big Horn basketball teams open their seasons Friday at a tournament hosted by Niobrara county high school in Lusk.
TR BASKETBALL - The Tongue River Lady Eagles will join the Eagles playing at a tournament in Thermopolis.
WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers open their season Friday at a tournament in Powell.
SWIMMING - The Bronc swimmers open the season with their first practice on today, their first meet will be December 13th in Casper.
BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football team will put a cap to the 2013 season tonight with their post season banquet, it will be held at Sheridan high school at 6:30.
COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Wyoming basketball Cowboys beat Montana state in their last game 79-54, tonight the host a game with Black Hills state we will have it live for you on KWYO and 87.7 FM pregame at 6:30 tip off at 7:00
COWGIRL BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowgirls lost 82-78 against South Dakota next up for the Cowgirls in a home game with Colorado Wednesday night live on KWYO and 87.7 FM pregame at 6:30 tip off at 7:00.
BRONCO FOOTBALL - The Denver Broncos beat Kansas city 35-28 Sunday and will play at home this week against Tennessee.
