Winter sports at SHS off to a good start / Cowboys / Cowgirls hoops play Saturday / Broncos at Steelers Sunday

WINTER SPORTS SEASON - We are a week into the winter sports season this weekend will be the final competition until after Christmas, Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian says the winter sports are off to a great start.

And he says they were able to build a lot of momentum during the fall season and that success has carried over into the winter season.

Bronc wrestlers have a good opener / Bronc / Lady Bronc hoops v Billings West Friday / Rams - Eagles at the Foot Hills classic

BRONC WRESTLING - The Bronc varsity wrestlers finished 11th at the Rapid City invitational Hayden Hastings was the lone Bronc champion winning at 160 pounds the rest of the team opened the season at a big tournament in Powell and overall Head coach Tyson Shatto says it was a good opening weekend for all the wrestlers.

And he said the tournament in Rapid City was a tough tournament to start the season with and seeing Hayden Hastings win in his bracket was a very good start for him.

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams won five and lost one game in Riverton, the Lady Broncs swept the weekend with victories over Riverton, Kelly Walsh and Evanston, Head coach Jessica Pickett

Pickett says it was a good start and they have some good games coming up including Friday's home game with Billings West.

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams opened their season in Riverton last night and both picked up nice road wins against Riverton.

The Lady Broncs blew out the Wolverines 55-15 Senior Robbi Ryan led the way with 21 points.

The Broncs beat the Wolverines 55-45 Senior Blake Godwin had 21 points in the victory.

They play Casper Kelly Walsh tonight game times are at 5:30 and 7:00 you can hear them live on KWYO and 87.7 FM.

They close out play tomorrow afternoon against Evanston games will be at 3:00 and 4:30 on KWYO.

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams open their season at a three day tournament in Riverton this evening they open against Riverton game times will be at 5:30 and 7:00 you can hear them live on 87.7 FM.

Broncs Head coach Gale Smith says they've done some good things the first week and have in the gym.

And he says Riverton, Kelly Walsh and Evanston should let the Broncs know were they stand by the end of the weekend.

BRONC WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers open their season with a dual in Worland tomorrow, then split the team into the veterans and new guys for tournaments in Powell and Rapid City this weekend.

Head coach Tyson Shatto says the wrestlers have put some good time in on the mat and they'll find out where they stand by the end of competition Saturday.
