GENERALS BASKETBALL - The Sheridan college Generals found out yesterday that they entered the National Junior college basketball Top 25 poll. They enter the poll for the first time this season at number #25.
They took that ranking into action last night at Western Nebraska CC in Scottsbluff and came away with an impressive 86-84 victory. Freshmen Lamont Prosser led five Generals in double figures with 17 points including six straight points in the games closing minutes.
The Sheridan Bronc wrestlers open their season at a tournament in Powell Friday.
BRONC WRESTLING For the last couple of weeks Head coach Terry Burgess has been working with the Broncs and welcomed several new faces into the wrestling room. And with just a handful of returners back they're excited to see those new additions to the program.
They open the season Friday with their first tournament of the year and Burgess says every Bronc will get a lot of mat-time.
The Sheridan College Generals rolled to an easy win Friday with a 124-57 shellacking of the Rams of Little Big Horn College. The Generals opened up their season with a convincing win over the Rams and had very little trouble putting the game away early Friday. Action will continue today at the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome, as the annual Lions Club Tournament continues. The Generals will play Fort Carson this afternoon at 1 o'clock at Sheridan College Golden Dome.
If the program is implemented it wouldn't happen until next fall and would begin with athletics first with the possibility of expanding to include all students who participate in extra-curricular activities.
