Cheyenne's Nimmo promoted to 'AA" By the New York Mets

2011 Cheyenne East HS grad and former Cheyenne Post 6 baseball player Brandon Nimmo has received the call, to starting playing with the New York Mets ‘AA’ team in Binghampton, New York.

The 21-year old 2011 first round pick of the Mets, up until his 2014 promotion, has been with the single-A team in St. Lucie, Florida, where he had a .322 batting average, and he has led the Florida State League with an on base percentage of .448, and has hit 4 home runs.

Wyoming Extends Contract for Head Basketball Coach Larry Shyatt Through April of 2019

LARAMIE, Wyo. (June 17, 2014) - University of Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman announced Tuesday he is extending the contract of head men’s basketball coach Larry Shyatt through April of 2019.

Shyatt recently completed his third season at Wyoming since returning to UW in the spring of 2011 and his fourth overall season at Wyoming, having also served as head coach of the Cowboys for the 1997-98 campaign.

HOOP CAMPS - Sheridan college women's basketball coach Frank McCarthy finishes up his girls youth basketball camp today, next week Generals Head coach Steve Smiley will host the final camp of the summer at the Hoffman dome for the summer as he and his staff host their Elite camp.

This camp is invitational only for the best high school players in Wyoming.

University of Wyoming Track & Field Adds 11 Commitments including a former Lady Bronc

LARAMIE, Wyo. (June 16, 2014) – University of Wyoming track and field coach Bryan Berryhill announced Monday that 11 student-athletes have committed to compete as Cowboys and Cowgirls beginning this fall. The group joins nine student-athletes who signed with Wyoming in February.

“I think all of our staff has done an outstanding job recruiting this year and this last group shows that,” Berryhill said. “We are exciting about this recruiting class and specifically that we expanded the depth of our program with these kids.

WYO / MT ALL-STAR HOOPS - The 2014 Wyoming / Montana high school all star basketball series is history with Montana taking three of the four games, the Wyoming girls salvaged and overtime victory Saturday night

The Montana all-stars won both games in Sheridan Friday, the teams split Saturday in Billings.

The Wyoming girls battled into overtime Saturday night and won 81-75. The teams tied at 64 at the end of regulation, Gillette's Julia Seamans scored eight points in OT to lead team Wyoming to the victory.

WYOMING / MONTANA ALL-STAR HOOPS - The first two games of the the Wyoming / Montana high school all star basketball series were played in Sheridan Friday night with the Montana all-stars taking both games, both went down to the final seconds.

The Wyoming girls overcame an early 12 point deficit to control most of the game and held a 55-54 lead in the final seconds, Montana's Jill Barta put an end to the game with a three point bucket with under four seconds to play to beat Wyoming 57-55.
