LOCAL BASKETBALL OFFICIAL INDUCTED INTO THE WYO SPORTS OFFICIALS HALL OF FAME

Brett Reed recieves hall of fame award from WHSAA commisioner Ron Laird

Longtime Sheridan basketball and baseball official Brett Reed was recently inducted into the class of 2013 of the Wyoming sports officials hall of fame.

The ceremony was held in Casper during the Wyoming coaches association annual conference and all-star weekend.

Troopers Defeat Jackson Giants 17-2

The Sheridan Troopers offense proved to be too much for the Jackson Giants as the Troopers came away with a 17 to 2 win at the State AA Baseball Tournament in Cheyenne on Wednesday afternoon. After the game, head coach Ben Phillips talked with us.

Skyler Holwell was the winning pitcher and the only pitcher used by the Troopers for the entire contest. Now the Troopers will play Cheyenne Post 6 tonight at 7pm.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers open state "AA" baseball tournament Today. The state tournament format is true double elimination meaning winning on the opening day is huge for any team wishing to make a run at a state title.

This season Casper, Cheyenne Gillette and Sheridan have been the big four and the title chase is wide open.

Troopers Head coach Ben Phillips says which ever team can get a hot pitching staff going will have the upper hand.

TROOPERS PREPARE FOR "AA" STATE BAAEBALL TOURNAMENT

TROOPERS BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers will join the rest of the state's double "AA" teams at the state tournament in Cheyenne this week, games begin Wednesday and today we begin our Trooper stat tournament preview.

Troopers Head coach Ben Phillips says pitching is the most important thing in tournament baseball and says it'll will take every arm they have to make a deep run in the tournament.

And he says the entire squad has to be on the same page and get focused if they want to do well.

JETS DROP STATE OPENER / TROOPERS IN CASPER SATURDAY

SHERIDAN JETS/ STATE TOURNEY - The Wyoming American Legion "B" state tournament got underway yesterday the Sheridan Jets dropped their opening game against Casper 10-0 in the other game Cheyenne shut down Gillette winning 10-1.

Jets will play the late game tonight at 7:00 against Laramie. the first game today will be at 9:00 am with Cheyenne playing Jackson, Laramie and Casper play at noon, Jackson faces Gillette at 3:00.

The top four advance to bracket play with semi-finals Saturday the title game will be play Sunday.
