Homecoming And More For Buffalo, Kaycee Athletes

This is Homecoming Week at Buffalo High School, and Thursday is busy at BHS.

The Bison cross country team will host their invite which gets underway with the middle schoolers at 2pm and high schoolers at 3pm this afternoon at BHS.

The freshman football team will host Sheridan today at 4:30.

HOMECOMING WEEK FOR SHERIDAN AND TONGUE RIVER

SWIMMING AND DIVING - The Lady Bronc swimmers and divers will host a meet with Riverton and Cody and it will be the Lady Bronc's last home action of their season.

Head coach Brent Moore says it's going to be a big day for the Lady Broncs Friday. And he says they've had a great year so far and are looking forward to a strong finish.

The numbers in the program have really grown as 25 girls are in pool this year and Moore says that has been a huge factor in the team's success this fall.

SHERIDAN HIGH SCHOOL X-COUNTRY LOOKS TO THE POST SEASON

BRONC / LADY BRONC X-COUNTRY - The Bronc and Lady Bronc cross country teams are taking a week off to prepare for the conference and state championship meets.

Over the last three races both teams have made a big jump in their competitiveness and Head coach Art Bauers says it's been a lot of hard work by the runners to get themselves in good position this late the season.

And he says it's been good to see both teams starting to gel together into solid team units.

Weekend Sports Wrap For Jo Co High Schools

A busy high school sports weekend had mixed results for teams from Buffalo and Kaycee.

In football, Buffalo slipped to 1-4 on the season with a 34-14 loss to the Riverton Wolverines.
Next up for Buffalo is Lander this week for homecoming with kickoff scheduled for 7pm Friday at Bison Stadium.

Kaycee's Buckaroos also fell this week, losing to Meeteetse 66-52.
Buffalo's Lady Bison volleyball team lost to Rawlins 3 games to 1 in their only match last week.

RED GRADE GRIND SATURDAY 9:00 AM

The 35th Red Grade Grind will take place Saturday morning.This is a 3 mile, 2000 foot elevation gain,run up the Red Grade Road to be held October 6th.

Race starts at 9:00 a.m., rain or shine. Runners, walkers, cyclists are encouraged to attend this 35th running of this event. There is no entry fee.Participants meet at the end of the oil. Any questions, please contact Curt or Linda Schwamb 307-672-5416

HALL OF FAME HOOPS COACH TO APPEAR IN SHERIDAN

The Sheridan College Men’s basketball team is excited to announce that NCAA All-Time win leader & ESPY award winning Coach Don Meyer will be hosting several events in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Coach Don Meyer is a renowned speaker, hosting leadership seminars and speaking for national organizations such as New York Life. Coach Meyer’s life was changed in 2008 when a near fatal car accident discovered that he had carcinoid cancer.

LOCAL SPORTS RESULTS

STATE TENNIS - The Bronc and Lady Bronc tennis teams are in 3rd place heading into the final day of the state championships in Gillette. Number one singles players Julia Fenn and Reed Ritterbusch will play for their state titles today.

VOLLEYBALL - The Lady Bronc volleyball team will play at the annual "Border War" matches in Billings today.

The Big Horn Lady Rams beat Wright 3-1 Friday night they host Sundance this afternoon..

The Tongue River Lady Eagles are playing at a tournament this weekend over in the Big Horn Basin hosted by Riverside and Greybull high schools.
