4-A EAST REGIONAL BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Broncs basketball season ended for the second time in a row came in a crushing defeat in loser out play at the 4-A East regional tournament in Cheyenne.
The Broncs met Cheyenne Central in the elimination game and had to play from behind all night they tied the game in the closing seconds but Cheyenne Central hit the final bucket with two seconds to play to beat the Broncs 69-67, the loss came from the freethrow line where they hit only 19-36 attempts.
The regional will open for the Lady Broncs tonight the will play at 7:00 in one of the semi finals against Cheyenne Central, Shane Parker will have all the play by play on KWYO and 87.7 FM.
2-A STATE BASKETBALL - At the 2-A state tournament in Casper the Tongue River Lady Eagles shook off a tough test from Thermopolis and posted a 59-39 victory.
The Lady Eagles held a 26-22 halftime lead and gave up only 17 second half points to pick up the 20 point win. Sarah Rawlings played a great game finishing with 16 points
They will play Wyoming Indian in one semi final today at 4:30 we will have the game live for you on KWYO and 87.7 FM
The Big Horn Rams got into quite a battle with Rocky Mountain and came up short 64-57.
Rocky held between a one and five point lead the entire second half the Rams got within one several times but in the end couldn't make it happen and fall into the losers bracket. Colter Carzoli led the scoring with 20 points.
The Rams will play Big Piney in a loser out game at 1:30 this afternoon live on KWYO and 87.7 FM.
UW BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowgirls end their regular season tonight when they play at Colorado state. The Cowboys will host CSU Saturday afternoon broadcast time will be at 1:30.
STATE INDOOR TRACK - The state indoor track meet begins today in Gillette the Broncs and Lady Broncs will compete.
SPRING SPORTS - The spring sports season begins Monday with outdoor track and Sheridan Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer holding their first practices.
AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - Sheridan American Legion baseball will hold their annual player / parent meeting Wednesday evening March 19th at 6:00 in the Sheridan high school cafeteria. All prospective Sheridan Troopers and Jets players along with their parents should attend.
