Broncs fall to East

The Sheridan Broncs fell at home to Cheyenne East last night, not able to complete a comeback in a game where they were unable to hit shots.

The Broncs only put 14 points on the board in the first half, trailing East's 23. Those 14 included a buzzer-beater 3-pointer from Cole Smith which he fired from just past half court in front of the scorers table.

After taking the lead to finish the third quarter 29-27, the Broncs fell behind in the fourth but ended up with a shot to win it with less than a minute remaining. Gabe Dahmke's three-attempt was blocked and East closed it out with free throws, winning 45-38. The Broncs are back on the court today, they play Cheyenne Central at 1:30 at the SHS Gym. Gillette beat Central 59 to 32 last night in Gillette. We'll have that game for you live on AM 1410 KWYO.

The Lady Broncs beat East in Cheyenne last night, 57-42. They move on to face Cheyenne Central this afternoon on the road.

In Sundance Friday, Big Horn won 60-54 and the Lady Rams won, 50-31. The Tongue River Lady Eagles beat Greybull 45-28 on the road.

Wrestling - Six Bronc wrestlers will compete in the finals in at the 4A East regional tourney in Gillette today. Derrick Berretini, Clay Carter, Lukas Geisey, Cody Delk and Alex Marty.

UW BasketballThe Wyoming Cowgirls are coming off a 71-58 win over Air Force on Wednesday, they have Colorado State today in the AA in Laramie. That's set for 1:30 as well.

They Wyoming Cowboys are working through late season struggles against some teams they were expected to beat, losing to New Mexico and Air Force in their last two contests. They play Colorado State tonight, that's on AM 1410 KWYO beginning at 6:30 with the pregame. The Pokes play San Diego State next week as the regular season winds down.
