BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football came from behind to beat Cheyenne Central Friday night 33-28 in the class 4-A football season opener in Cheyenne.
Central took a 14-0 lead midway through the 2nd quarter before the Broncs got on the board with a 56 yard TD run from Nate Kane.
Central would score again and Sheridan kicker Gunner Edeen kicked a 47 yard field goal with under a minute to play in the half as Central took a 21-10 lead at the half.
The broncs scored 1st in the third quarter on a 5 yard run by Daniel Sessions but Central upped the lead to 28-17 with 9:14 to play.
The Bronc comeback began when Ethan Hall scored on a 1 yard touchdown run after Kevin Bakkehaug ran 79 yards to the Central one yard line after a 2-point conversion the Broncs were within three 28-25.
The Broncs picked up a safety at the 5:48 mark then Edeen would put the Broncs ahead 30-28 with a 41 yard field goal with 1:58 to play, Gunner then hit another kick from 32 yards with :37 seconds to play for the final margin of victory.
Head coach Don Julian said the broncs did a good job and got back in the game and took the win away from central in the 4th quarter.
Next up for the Broncs a home game Friday with Natrona county.

RAMS FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams beat Thermopolis in a zero week scrimmage Friday afternoon 27-7 was the final. The Rams open the regular season next week at Greybull.
