BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER SPLIT CONFERENCE OPENERS

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Broncs and Lady Broncs opened conference play last night with matches against the Gillette Camels.

The Lady Broncs fell behind the number one ranked Camels 1-0 in the first half as they tried to battle back in the second half but Gillette would score two more goals and win the game 3-0.

Lady Broncs Head coach Tom Racette says it was a tough night against a good team.

Even though it was their first loss of the season they are playing for more than just winning the conference opener.

The schedule remains tough for the Lady Broncs as they play two really good teams next week starting with a match at Buffalo Tuesday.

The Broncs are now 4-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play after a hard fought 1-0 win at Gillette last night.

The Broncs will play at Buffalo as well Tuesday then head out on the road for games in Casper and Laramie.

The Sheridan and Buffalo JV soccer teams will play in Sheridan Monday evening and 4:00 and 6:00.

NSI TRACK AND FIELD - The NSI track teams competed in an invitational in Newcastle yesterday both teams finished 10th overall.

Top finishers for the girls included Cameal Garrison finishing 5th in the 100 meters, 4th in the 200 and 4th in the 400.

Erisha Johnson picked up points with a 5th place finish in the shot put.

For the NSI boys Anton Webbs was 6th in the 100 meters and Andy Grant placed 4th in the 800 meters and was 7th at 400 meters.

BRONC / LADY BRONC TRACK AND FIELD - The Sheridan high school track teams are scheduled to compete at an invitational meet in Gillette tomorrow .

RAMS / EAGLES TRACK AND FIELD - The Big horn and Tongue river track teams are scheduled to be at the Gillette meet as well.

BRONC / LADY BRONC GOLF - The Sheridan Bronc and Lady Bronc golfers will open their spring tournament schedule weather permitting a week from tomorrow in Worland.

COLORADO ROCKIES - The Colorado Rockies open the 2011 MLB season at Coors field this afternoon against Arizona.
