Bronc football opens practice / all other local sports start a week from today/ Broncos back in action Sunday / Rockies win at Arizona

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL - The football season begins today for the Sheridan Bronc football team as two a days get underway.

The team held their annual player / parent meeting Saturday evening a day after finishing up their two day mountain camp with the seniors, Head coach Don Julian says the mountain camp went well.

He says it was a good chance for the coaches to find out what kind of leadership they can expect from this year's senior class.

The first week of two a days begin today and Julian says this week sets the foundation for the 2014 season.

The Broncs regular season opener is Friday August 29th at home against Laramie.

The Big Horn Rams and Tongue River Eagles open practice a week from today.

Their season openers are September 5th, the Rams open with Lovell, the eagles will open with Rocky Mountain.

FALL SPORTS - The rest of our local sports all begin next Monday.

The Bronc and Lady Bronc cross country teams open Monday morning at 6:30 at Sheridan high school.

The Lady Bronc swimmers and divers open Monday at 7:00 at the junior high pool.

The Lady Bronc volleyball team opens Monday morning at 9:00.

The tennis teams open Monday afternoon at 4:00.

And the Bronc and Lady Bronc golfers tee it up Monday morning at 10:00.

COWBOY FOOTBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys open their second week of preseason camp today the Pokes open the season at home August 30th against Montana, Cowboy football can be heard all season long on 14-10 KWYO.

BRONCO FOOTBALL - The Denver Broncos will play their next exhibition game on the road at San Francisco Sunday afternoon. Bronco pregame starts at 12:05 with kickoff at 2:00 on 87.7 FM ESPN radio.

ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies beat the D-Backs 5-3 Sunday. They open up a series at San Diego tonight you can hear the game live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio the first pitch will be at 8:10.
