LOCAL BASKETBALL OFFICIAL NAMED TO THE WYO SPORTS OFFICIALS HALL OF FAME

The Wyoming High School Activities Association (WHSAA), and the Wyoming Sports Officials Association (WSOA), recently announced that Brett Reed from Sheridan along with two other officials will be inducted into the Wyoming Sports Officials Association Hall of Fame.

The inductees will be honored during a banquet in conjunction with the Wyoming Coaches Association on July 26, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Parkway Plaza in Casper.

SPRING SPORTS OPENERS TODAY / COWGIRLS SURVIVE AND ADVANCE

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Sheridan high school soccer teams open the regular season today against Riverton.

The Broncs will play at home the Lady Broncs play at Riverton JV's play at 4:00 the varsity go at 6:00.

Lady Bronc Head coach Tom Racette says the youthful Lady Broncs will get a test today. And their opponent will be much like the Lady Broncs an unknown commodity.

COWGIRLS TAKE DOWN CSU TO ADVANCE

The Wyoming Cowgirls beat Colorado state Thursday night to advance to today's semi finals of the MWC basketball tournament 60-58 was the final in the come from behind win.

They will face Fresno state this afternoon in the semi finals broadcast time is at 3:00 live on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 ESPN radio.

The Broncs will play at home the Lady Broncs play at Riverton JV's play at 4:00 the varsity go at 6:00.

Lady Bronc Head coach Tom Racette says the preseason has gone well. And he says the coaches have had to make the tough decisions this past week and half splitting the players into varsity and JV teams.

Spring sports seasons begin this weekend with soccer and track and field events scheduled for the Buffalo High School teams.

SHS ACTIVITIES - We continue our visit today with Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian.

Julian says their is a hard working group of coaches that work with the youth at Sheridan high school and right now the whole staff remains strong.

And he says spring season is in full swing and the students are doing a good job of getting themselves ready to compete.

And finally today things to watch for coming up in the 2013-14 sports season beginning in the fall.
