ALL-STAR BASKETBALL DILEMMA / TRACK IN SHERIDAN THURSDAY

ALL-STAR BASKETBALL - Tuesday we heard from the coaches of the Wyoming all-star basketball teams the 2013 Wyoming / Montana all- star basketball games will be played June 7th and 8th in Sheridan and Billings.

A big issue for the Wyoming Men's team for the last couple of decades has been the Wyoming shrine bowl football game being played the same weekend which over the years has forced many players to choose between the two games which has effected the outcome of some of the games.

GENERALS ADD ANOTHER TO 2013-114 SQUAD

Sheridan College Men’s Basketball adds center Rudolphe Joly to the 2013-2014 Generals roster. Rudolphe Joly, a 6’10, 260 pound center from Quebec Canada, played at Alma Academy.

While at Alma, Rudolphe averaged 8 points, and 11 rebounds a game while shooting 60% from the field. Alma finished the season with a 48-5 record, winning the NPSAA & Canada Prep Championship.

For his efforts, Rudolphe was selected to play in the All-Canada Classic this past May in Toronto, in which the top 24 players in the country are invited to compete.

HIGH SCHOOL RODEO RESULTS

The 2012-2013 Wyoming High School Rodeo Season resumed on April 13th and 14th in Laramie, as cowboys and cowgirls resume their quest to qualify for the High School National Finals Rodeo.

Points earned at the 3 rodeos in September 2012 carry over the winter break.

The top 4 in each event at the end of the season are invited to compete at the High School National Finals Rodeo, to be held in Rock Springs in July.

Members of the Sheridan County High School Rodeo team competed over the weekend and this is a list of those who placed in Laramie, securing their places in the standings.

WYOMING HIGH SCHOOL ALL-STATR BASKETBALL / DAVIDSON MOVES ON FROM CASPER COLLEGE

WYOMING ALL-STAR BASKETBALL - The 2013 Wyoming / Montana all- star basketball games will be played June 7th and 8th in Sheridan and Billings.

Sheridan college Lady Generals Head coach Frank McCarthy will coach the Wyoming girls and he likes this year's roster.

The team includes two players from Sheridan as Lady Bronc teammates Hailey Ligocki and Mali Wright will play for team Wyoming.

WEEKEND LOCAL SPORTS WRAP UP

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams split matches with Gillette the Lady Broncs won 1-0 while the Broncs fell to 1-4 in conference play with a 1-0 loss.

Lady Bronc head coach Tom Racette says the players worked very hard in the match and it paid off with a second half goal to win it.

And he says it was important to have a good performance after losing two games big the week before in
Cheyenne.

"GARY BENSON" TRACK MEET MOVED TO THURSDAY

The 2nd annual "Gary Benson" memorial track meet scheduled for Tuesday at Sheridan high school has been moved and will take place Thursday because of expected poor weather conditions.

Seven teams will be competing,joining the Broncs and Lady Broncs will be Casper Kelly Walsh, Natrona county, Gillette and all three big schools from Billings, West, Senior and Skyview. Events are scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.

Sheridan high school will also host the annual "Dan Hansen" invitational on Saturday events begin at 10:00 am.

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER SPLITS WITH GILLETTE.

It was a pair of 1-0 games at Sheridan high school Friday night as the Broncs and Lady broncs hosted matches with Gillette.

Robbie Ryan scored the only goal of the girls match in the second half as the Lady Broncs beat the Camels 1-0 and in the boys match Gillette got an early first half goal and it stood up for their 1-0 win over the Broncs.

The second round of conference play begins next week for the Sheridan teams with matches against Laramie and Cheyenne South.

2013 WYOMING BASKETBALL ALL-STAR ROSTERS ANNOUNCED

BOYS

Marshall McArthur is a 6’4, 160 pound guard from Powell, Wyoming. Marshall played for Coach Mike Henry at Powell High School. Marshall is a three time All-Conference selection, 2011-2013, and was named All-State in 2013 while averging 15.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. Scoring 993 points in his career, Marshall is the 3rd all-time leading scorer at Powell High School. Marshall also participated in track & tennis while attending Powell High School. Marshall boasted a 4.0 GPA and plans on attending college to study Pharmacy or Dentistry.
