There are many different 3 on 3 basketball competitions in our area and the Sheridan Recreation District would like to introduce a new basketball tournament. Their 1st Annual 5 on 5 basketball tournament is scheduled for this Friday and Saturday.

Thompson says that currently there are not enough teams signed up to hold the tournament. They have not called it off just yet, but if they do not have enough sign ups they will have to cancel the event.

STATE CROSS COUNTRY - The 2016 Wyoming state cross country championships finished up in Sheridan Saturday afternoon.

The Sheridan county teams finished like this the Tongue River Lady Eagles were 3rd in 2A the TR boys were 5th and the Big Horn Rams were 7th.

The Sheridan Lady Broncs had a pretty good day finishing 5th and the Broncs were 7th.

Sheridan Head coach Art Bauers says the Lady Broncs had a very good result. And he says the Broncs struggled but had a decent day.

The #2 Ranked 4A Sheridan Bronc Football team took care of Cheyenne South with a 49-21 win finishing the regular season 8-1. Next week they will start the post season at home.

Tongue River Eagles Football
Tongue River's #2 1A Eagles football lost their final game of the season to #1 ranked Upton/Sundance 32-20. The team goes into the 1A postseason as the #2 seed and they will play at home next week.

2016 WYOMING STATE CROSS COUNTRY - The Wyoming high school state cross country championships run tomorrow at the Sheridan VA.

Sheridan high school Head coach Art Bauers says there are three really good girls teams and two favorites in the boys 4-A final.

And Bauers tells us the coaches final advice to the Broncs and Lady Broncs before the finals.

The 4A girls race leads off tomorrow 10:30 followed by the 3A girls at 11:00 and the 2A girls at11:30.

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football team finishes up the regular season tomorrow at Cheyenne South broadcast time is at 5:30 with the First Federal bank and trust pregame show kickoff is at 6:00 and we will have it live on 14-10 KWYO.

The Broncs are 7-1 going into this game and have one of the top two playoff seeds wrapped up and once again Head coach Don Julian says the season just seems to fly by when you're having success.

State Cross Country in Sheridan Highlights the Sports Weekend / High School Football Regular Season Finale is Friday

WYOMING STATE X-COUNTRY - Sheridan will host the Wyoming state cross country championships Saturday on the grounds of the Sheridan VA.

Sheridan Head coach Art Bauers says they course Saturday is the same course they use for the Sheridan invitational and says a large percentage of the runners Saturday have competed on the course before.

And he says the course set up at is fair for all the runners.

SC Generals Rodeo results

The Sheridan College Generals recently traveled to Cheyenne, WY to the Laramie County Community College Campus for the final college rodeo of the fall season.

The Men's Team continued to expand their lead of 2,340 regional team points by winning the Men's Team Title at the LCCC rodeo with a 515 points.

The Men's team was lead by the dynamic freshman Bareback Riding duo of Chance Ames and Hunter Carlson. Ames won the long round, short round, and the average in the Bareback Riding to clinch the title for the rodeo with an average of 150 points.

Lady Broncs Prepare for State Swimming / Regular Season HS Football and Volleyball Closes out This Weekend

LADY BRONC SWIMMING / DIVING - The Lady Bronc swimmers and divers finished 2nd at their conference meet they will have this week off the 4-A state championships start next week on Thursday in Gillette.

Head coach Brent Moore says overall it was quite a performance by the Lady Broncs.

And he says they followed their game plan and it paid off and the results showed then exactly what they are capable of.
