The Buffalo Bison Sports teams faced some tough competition this weekend, and had mixed results.
The No. 2-ranked boys' basketball team hosted a fiesty Rawlins team Friday night and fell to the Outlaws in a hard-fought game 64-63.
Kasey Esponda had 22 points to lead the Bison in the losing effort, Aaron Tyser had 17 and Hayden Kessler added 10.
The Lady Bison were in Rawlins Friday and fell to the Lady Outlaws 62-45.
Also Friday, the Kaycee girls dropped Arvada-Clearmont 45-37 and the Kaycee Buckaroos won by forfeit over the A/C boys.
On Saturday the Buffalo boys bounced back to whip the Thermopolis Bobcats 75-45.
Also Saturday, the Bison girls hosted Thermopolis and held on for a tough 36-35 win.
Leah Groteluschen and Dallas Shaw each had 11 points for Buffalo.
Thursday, the Buffalo wrestling team hosted Worland and lost the dual 60-17 but had some good individual results from the match.
At 103 pounds, Darby Scantling went 0-1; at 112, Jonathan Land went 1-0; at 119, Nathan Gilbert went 0-1; at 130, Taylor Bell went 0-1; at 135, Riley West went 1-0; at 145, Brandon Lee went 0-1; at 152, Colter Montey went 0-1; at 160, Jac Klaahsen went 1-0; at 171, Jace Jensen went 1-0; at 189, Cody Sanburn went 0-1; and at 285, Joey Carey went 0-1.
