Weekend Bison Preview

The Buffalo Bison will be moving one step closer to wrapping their winter sports seasons as they compete and ready themselves for their conference and state tournaments.

LADY BRONC LOSE, BRONCS ON THE ROAD TONIGHT

LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Lady Broncs have lost two in a row after losing to Gillette 74-59 at Sheridan high school last night.

They led 16-15 after the first quarter, Gillette took a three point halftime lead then blew the game open scoring 28 points in the third quarter Lady Broncs Head coach Derek Bissitt.

The Lady Broncs missed Steph Sessions last night the two year starter was in street clothes last night with injury.

SHERIDAN / GILLETTE II TONIGHT

LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Lady Broncs have Gillette at home tonight. The Lady Broncs are 18-1 still ranked number one in 4-A after suffering their first loss of the season in Laramie last week.

They lead the conference race by one game over the Camels Head coach Derek Bissitt expects another good game with the Camels tonight.

Since the loss in Laramie last Saturday Bissitt says the players have responded well to the loss and are looking forward to getting back on the court.

Sheridan figure skaters get back into competition this week

The Sheridan Ice Figure Skaters are gearing up to skate in The Black Hills Gold Rush Competition in Rapid City, South Dakota this weekend.

Skaters are Kairstyn Holden, Katelyn Kayser, Jessie Pattison, Catherine Winnop and Elizabeth Winnop. They are coached by Emily Emond.

The following weekend (Feb. 26) the skaters will be going to Billings, MT to compete in the 18th Annual Figure Skating Club of Billings Competition.

Bison Win Conference Championship

The Buffalo Bison Swim Team headed to the Conference Meet in Rawlins last weekend full of confidence, and apparently had good reason, coming home with the Conference Championship.
Buffalo as a team finished with 355 points, ahead of second place Douglas, Rawlins, Cheyenne South, Worland and Newcastle.

1-A / 2-A BASKETBALL REGULAR SEASON ENDS THIS WEEK

EAGLES / LADY EAGLES BASKETBALL - The Tongue River Eagles and Lady Eagles finish up the regular season this week with Greybull and Sundance both teams sit in second place in the conference.

The youthful Lady Eagles are 13-6 overall and just picked up their biggest win of the season beating Big Horn last Friday Head coach Diane Moser.

And she says the toughness of their schedule has paid off with great late season improvement and confidence.

BRONC SWIMMERS AND DIVERS PREPARE FOR STATE

Bronc Senior Taylor Speigelberg made All-conference at Regionals last week

BRONC SWIMMING / DIVING - The Bronc swimmers and divers they have this week off and will head to the Wyoming state swimming and diving championships in Gillette next week.

The Broncs finished 4th at the regional meet last week and over all Head coach Larry White says they've had a productive season.

Senior Taylor Speigelberg especially had a good regional. And overall individually the Broncs had a good regional.

THE WEEKEND LOCAL SPORTS WRAP-UP

LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan Lady Broncs lost their first game of the year Saturday in Laramie a day after winning at Kelly Walsh.

The Laramie girls beat Gillette Friday night and took down the Lady Broncs 69-58 Saturday.

The Lady Broncs had a rough game filled with turnovers, missed shots and poor defense that added up to their first defeat of the season Head coach Derek Bissitt.
