Bison Swimmers Show Well at Gillette and Lander Meets

The Bison boys' swim team had a productive weekend, placing well at Gillette and finishing second in Lander.
On Thursday the Bison competed against what coach Ron Chapin called a very talented Gillette team.
He said, “A couple of their swimmers compete at the national level and are fun to watch. We looked really tired in the water after a tough Wednesday practice. The only improvement we had was Neil Medders taking 6 seconds off his 500 free time. Neil has the fastest 200 and 500 free time in 3A as does Nate Holt in the 100 backstroke.
First place finishes at Gillette included Justin Land in diving and Neil Medders in the 500 free.
At Lander on Saturday the Bison finished second behind the Tigers in the six-team field.
Chapin said the team also swam their off events but he was very happy with the times they achieved. Tim Cohoon qualified for state in the 500 free. It was the first time he had ever swam the race.
First place finishes went to: the 200 free relay team of Nate Holt, Josh Cohoon, Matt Scarlett and Neil Medders; the 200 Medley relay team of Holt, Wyatt Zegstroo, Tim Cohoon and Josh Cohoon; Medders in the 100 back and 50 free; Holt in the 100 Back; and Josh Cohoon in the 100 free and 200 IM.

More finishes from the Bison this past weekend.

Second-place finishes in Gillette:
200 Medley relay team of Holt, Medders, Tim Cohoon and Scarlett.
200 free relay team of Holt, Dillinger, Tim Cohoon and Justin Land.
Medders in the 200 free and 100 back.
Josh Cohoon in the 100 free and 200 IM.

Improved times: Scarlett in the 200 free; Medders in the 100 back; Hunter Cardinal in the 500 free; and Josh Dillinger in the 200 IM.
