The Buffalo High School boys' swim team opened their season in strong fashion last weekend, with good showings in Casper and Gillette.
The boys' team finished sixth at the Casper Relays on Friday and placed sixth again at the Gillette Pentathlon on Saturday.
The JV team finished first in Gillette behind a fist-place finish from Matt Scarlett, second place from Timothy Cohoon, third from Wyatt Zegstroo and fourth place from Randy Olson.
Coach Ron Chapin said it was impressive for the Bison JV team to have the top four finishers of a 66-swimmer field, especially with them being freshmen and sophomores competing with mostly upperclassmen.
For the varsity team, Josh Cohoon finished 1oth overall and Justin Land finished fifth in diving.
The team will host the Buffalo Pentathlon Friday and travel to Newcastle for their Invite on Saturday.
