Bison Swimmers Host Meet, Perform Well

The Lady Bison swim team hosted their Buffalo Pentathlon last Friday, with teams from Newcastle, Worland, Douglas as well as Buffalo at the meet.
A number of individual Bison had great performances.
In the 100 butterfly, Buffalo's Hannah Chapin took second, being beaten by less than a second by Carolyn Kennedy of Worland.
Buffalo's Caley Stafford took fourth and Misty Ballek took fifth.

In the JV 50 butterfly, Courtney Mauck took third, Joy Gilbert finished fourth and Alex Velasquez finished sixth.
In the 100 freestyle, Hannah Chapin beat out Carolyn Kennedy of Worland by less than a second to take first place, Stafford finished third, Ballek fifth and Sara Ott took tenth.
In the 50 free JV, Mauck took second and Joy Gilbert finished fourth.
The girls' 1-meter diving event was won by Buffalo's Gracie Meachum and third place went to Jenna Elmlinger.
The 100 backstroke was a 1-2-3 finish for the Bison with Chapin taking first, Stafford second and Ballek third. Ott finished seventh.
In the 50 backstroke JV, Velasquez finished third and Gilbert fourth.
The 100 breaststroke was won by Stafford, Chapin finished fifth, and Ballek finished ninth.
Th 50 breaststroke JV match had Mauck taking second, Gilbert third and Velasquez fourth.
And Chapin won the girls 100 IM, Stafford finished third and Ballek fifth.
Next up for the Lady Bison swimmers is a meet with Gillette and Newcastle Thursday in Gillette.
