Bison Sports Weekend Wrap for Sept. 26

The Bison football team suffered another setback last Friday, falling to the Douglas Bearcats 27-21 on their home field.
Douglas opened scoring in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead, but the Bison answered in the second quarter on a run by quarterback Collin Rodriguez to tie the game at 7-7. Aaron Fenner scored later in the quarter to give Buffalo a 14-7 lead at the half.
Douglas took the opening kickoff of the second half down and scored but failed on the 2-point conversion to trail 14-13. They would add another score and a two-point conversion later in the quarter to lead 21-14 at the end of three.
Douglas scored midway through the fourth quarter, but the PAT was blocked by Fenner and the Bearcats led 27-14.
The Bison added another touchdown to bring the score to 27-21 but the Bearcats ran out the clock to take the win.
Next up for the Bison, the Riverton Wolverines this Friday for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 7pm.
The Bison Golf Team was at the State Tournament in Rawlins this weekend and the top finishers were for the girls, Hannah Pfister who took seventh with a score of 204. For the boys the top finisher was Tyler Harriet who tied for 16th place with a score of 173.
The girls' team finished fifth and the boys took seventh.
Other finishes at the State Golf Tournament for the boys were Lee Hartley, tied for 18th with a 175; Nick Lulias, 34th with a 192; Cam Spade, tied for 37th with a 199; and Garrett Wright, 60th, NC.
For the girls, Katy Odenbach, tied for 18th, 230; Shea Diefenderfer, tied for 24th, 236; Sydney Gruntmier, 27th, 238; and Jordan Snyder, 36th, 280.
