Bison Sports Weekend Wrap

Bison Sports Weekend Wrap

The Buffalo Bison sports teams competed well again this past weekend, but results were mixed.
The basketball teams had just one game each this weekend as both teams traveled to Douglas to take on the Bearcats and Lady Bearcats.

The boys came away victorious, beating Douglas 73-46.
Aaron Tyser led the Bison with 19 points, followed by Kasey Esponda with 18 and Hayden Kessler with 12.
Buffalo had 38 rebounds, with 12 going to Esponda.
The Bison struggled from the free throw line, hitting only five of 16 from the line, but it had no bearing on the outcome of the game.
The boys are now 14-1 overall, 8-0 in conference.
The girls took on top-ranked Douglas and gave them all they could handle before falling to the Lady Bearcats 39-34.
Buffalo's Jenna Anderson went down in the first half of the game in what turned out to be a dislocated kneecap and she did not return to the game.
Leah Groteluschen, although injured herself, led the Lady Bison with 19 points.
Dallas Shaw was in foul trouble early and was used sparingly, scoring only 3 points.
The girls dropped to 12-3 overall and 6-2 in conference on the season.
The teams will have important conference games this weekend as they take on Wheatland and Torrington.
The Bison wrestlers were in Douglas and Glenrock, and results from Saturday had the Bison dropping their dual with Glenrock 51-18. We will have more in-depth results as they become available.
The Bison swim team was in Riverton Friday and Lander Saturday.
Buffalo as a team took duals with Cody, Riverton and Worland while dropping the dual with Lander.
We will have individual results and results from Saturday's Lander meet when available.
