Bison Sports Weekend Results

The Bison sports teams were in action over the weekend, and results were mixed.
The Lady Bison volleyball team was at the Douglas Invite and split their matches, going 2-2. Buffalo beat Cheyenne South in pool play 3-0 before losing to Douglas 1-2. In the tournament, the Lady Bison beat Newcastle and then lost to the eventual tournament champion Torrington.
Jenna Anderson and Kinzi Litzel led in attacking and blocking, and Sam Schroefel served 95% and had 86 assists for the tournament.
The girls will be at the Gillette Invite this Friday and Saturday.
The Bison Golfers were at the Cody/Powell Invitational, in a shortened event where the first day was called early due to lightning.
The top finisher for the boys was Lee Hartley, who shot a 79. For the girls, senior Katy Odenbach shot a 106.
Coach Chad Rose said, “The competition is really heated on the west side of the state. We are going to have our work cut out for us at State, but I believe that our players have yet to reach their peak.”
The golf team will be at the Worland Invite Thursday and Friday.
The cross country team competed mostly in the JV races, but had two varsity boys competing. Isaac Keifer finished 44th and Seth Hostetler finished 48th in the boys' 5K.
For the girls, JV runner Mikki Horton finished second in the girls' 5K, while the top finish for the boys' JV team went to Matt Scarlett at 20th.
The JV girls' team finished third, while the boys' JV team finished sixth.
Next up for them will be the Michelle Ludwig Invite in Sheridan on Friday.
