Bison sports preview for Jan. 7-8

The Bison sports teams are back in action this weekend after the long Holiday break, with the boys' and girls' basketball teams on the courts both Friday and Saturday, the wrestling team at Douglas and the boys' swim team at the Douglas Invitational.
The boys' basketball team will travel to Wheatland on Friday to take on the Bulldogs in a game featuring the top two teams and the top-two offenses in 3A East.
3A East Number one Buffalo (6-1 overall, 2-0 in conference) looks to remain the top team as they face Wheatland (7-0 overall, 1-0 in conference).
The number one Bison girls (6-1 overall, 2-0 in conference) will host Wheatland on Friday. Both teams' offenses average 53 points per game, but the Bison hold their opponents to 34 points on average, while the Lady Bulldogs allow 50 points to their opponents.
Saturday the Bison boys will host Thermopolis while the girls travel to Thermopolis to take on the Lady Bobcats.
Buffalo's wrestling team will look to improve on a fair start to their season at the Douglas Invite both Friday and Saturday.
The Bison swimmers will also travel to Douglas for their meet on Saturday.
