The Bison soccer teams wrapped up their soccer seasons this past weekend, with the boys finishing second and the girls third at the state tournament.
The boys started with a win Thursday over Powell 8-0, then beat Lander 2-0 Friday, which set up the championship with Cody Saturday. The Bison fell in a tough-fought 2-1 loss to the Broncs to finish second at state.
The girls took on Powell on Thursday and beaqt them 8-0, then fell to Jackson on Friday 4-2, to set up the third-place game between Buffalo and Cody.
The Bison girls pulled out a 4-3 win by shootout.
Jackson took the championship by beating Lander 5-1.
The Bison track and field team had a good showing at the 3A State Meet in Casper, with a number of top-10 finishes.
The best finishes for Buffalo were Isaac Kiefer finishing second in the 800-meter run and fourth in the 1,600-meter run; and Della Lyle finishing second in both the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs.
Kaycee also had a number of athletes finish in the top-10 at the 1A State Meet.
The top finishes for the Buckaroos were Chelsea Ullery taking fourth in the 100-meter dash; and Dedrek Lougee finishing third in shot put and fourth in discus.
Kaycee's Chase Gosney and Shawn Straub took fourth and fifth in shot put.
