Bison Down Star Valley, Advance to Meet Douglas

The Buffalo Bison football team will advance to the semifinals in the 3A High School Football Playoffs after downing the Star Valley Braves 24-13 Friday night in Afton.
Buffalo jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the second quarter, 14 to 7 at the half and led by a score of 24-7 in the third quarter and held on for
the win.
The Bison will travel to take on Douglas on Friday in the semifinals.
In 1A 6-man football, Kaycee crushed Hanna/Elk Mountain 73-13 on Friday and will advance to take on Little Snake River this week.
Midwest will face Dubois in their semifinal game.
In 1A volleyball at the State Tournament, the Kaycee Lady Bucs advanced to the Championship game this weekend by beating Hanna/Elk Mountain and Little Snake River. That set up the championship against Cokeville, and the Lady Bucs came up short, losing 3 games to none.
The Lady Bison swim team was at their state meet over the weekend and come home with one state champion and a fifth place finish as a team. They also had a couple of other great finishes.
Gracie Meachum took the championship in diving, and the Bison had third-place finishes from the relay team of Hannah Chapin, Misty Ballek, Caley Stafford and Sara Ott in the 200 medley relay; and from Chapin in the 100 freestyle.

More results from the State Swim Meet:
Misty Ballek, 4th in the 50 free, 7th in the 100 backstroke and 9th in the 100 butterfly.
Caley Stafford, 5th in the 100 breaststroke and sixth in the 200IM.
Jenna Elmlinger, 6th in diving.
Sara Ott, 12th in the 500 free.
Chapin, Ott, Ballek and Stafford finished 7th in the 200 free relay.
