BIG HORN WILD AND SCENIC TRAIL RUN - The annual Big Horn Mountain Wild and Scenic trail run opens this morning with the the start of the 100 mile race at 10:00 in Scott Park in Dayton.
The 50 mile, 50K and 30K races will all start tomorrow morning with staggered starts.
The 50 mile at 6:00the 50K at 8:00 and the 30K and 10:00 the finish line is in the park in Dayton.
The first 100 mile finishers are expected in the park early Saturday morning.
They will have food and entertainment for all the racers and fans in the park in Dayton tomorrow, race organizer Michelle Maneval says rain or shine they'll be in the park tomorrow.
The Big Horn Mountain wild and scenic concludes Sunday morning with a breakfast and awards presentations on Grinnell plaza in downtown Sheridan.
TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers open play at a tournament today in Spearfish, South Dakota play runs through Sunday.
They open with games today against Chadron, Nebraska and Torrington. The Troops have won 11 of their last 12 games and stand at 14-6 on the season.
Next week they have road games in Cheyenne and Scottsbluff and Gering, Nebraska.
Their next home date will be a double header with Casper on June 27th.
SHERIDAN BRONC WRESTLING CAMP - The Sheridan Bronc wrestling camp will be held next week at Sheridan high school.
The 2011 Bronc camp is open to all wrestlers from the 6th through 12th grades and will be held in the wrestling room at Sheridan high school Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
The camp will run in the evening for the junior high wrestlers from 5:00 to 7:30 and for the high school wrestlers from 5:00 to 8:30.
They will take registration Monday night before the first session opens.
SHERIDAN RECREATION DISTRICT - The Sheridan Rec District has a couple of fun events coming up, the first will be June 30th when they will host a 3 on 3 basketball tournament for all people age 50 and above, Adult Rec District Specialist Dale Boedecker.
The Rec District is also putting together a fun family event early in the day on the 4th of July they're calling the event "Freedomfest".
