ALL-STAR HOOPS / TROOPERS DROP TWO ON THE ROAD

ALL-STAR HOOPS - The Wyoming high school All-star basketball teams had mixed results in their games with South Dakota over the weekend.

The girls swept South Dakota in both games while the boys team lost both games.

Sheridan's Hailey Ligocki scored 17 and 10 points in each game and Lady Bronc teammate Mali Wright scored 8 total points on the weekend.

This week the players will be in Sheridan for preparation for this weekend's games with the Montana All-stars.

The first games will be played Friday night at the Hoffman dome at 6:00 and 8:00 and Saturday they shift the series to billings all four games will be broadcast live on 14-10 KWYO.

SIMPSON AWARDS - Sunday the annual Milward Simpson award finalists were announced. The Simpson awards go out to the top male and female high school athletes in the state.

Sheridan's Hailey Ligocki who will join the Wyoming Cowgirls basketball team this fall was selected as one of the five girls finalists. The winners will be announced later this month.

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers will played on the road in Wheatland yesterday they dropped both games to fall to 7-7 on the season pitching again hurt the troops again head coached Ben Phillips says to many walks are hurting their chances.

They play Gillette in a conference game tomorrow night in Gillette, the Troops are 1-0 in conference play and lost against the Roughriders a week ago by one run and Phillips says they got a good look at Gillette. Right now Drew Adriaens has been the most consistent Trooper pitcher and is expected to take the bump tomorrow.

TROOPER CAMP - Trooper baseball camp for all Sheridan county Little League and Webb wright baseball players will be held this week at Thorne-Rider stadium Wednesday - Friday from 9 am to noon each day.

They will take registration at the stadium at 8:00 on the first day of the camp Wednesday morning.

ROCKIES - The Colorado Rockies beat the LA Dodgers yesterday 7-2 they open a road series at Cincinnati tonight you can hear the game live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio pregame starts at 4:30 with the first pitch at 5:10.
