2013 ELKS HOOPS SHOOT IS SUNDAY AT THE HOFFMAN DOME

The 2013 Elks Hoop Shoot will be held on Sunday, January 6 at the Hoffman Dome at Sheridan College. Shooting will begin at 2PM.Contestants should arrive no later than 1:30 to check in.

The contest is open to girls and boys from 8 to 13 years old. Age will be determined by how old they will be on April 1, 2013. The three age groups are: 8 - 9, 10 - 11, and 12 - 13.

Contestants at the Hoop Shoot will shoot 25 free
throws.

PE Teachers at local schools have conducted shoot-offs to determine school champions and these school champions are the ones who have qualified to participate in the Hoop Shoot free throw contest.

HOWEVER, ANY BOY OR GIRL WHO DID NOT GET A CHANCE TO QUALIFY AT THEIR SCHOOL MAY PARTICIPATE IN THE
HOOP SHOOT IF THEY CHOOSE.

The Elks Hoop Shoot is a national program that begins with a local contest such as this one.Winners of the local contest will advance to the District Hoop Shoot in Cody, and, if they continue to win, can advance to State,Regional, and National Hoop Shoots.

There is no cost to participants.Expenses to all contests beyond the local Hoop Shoot will be paid by the
Elks.

This includes air fare and lodging to Springfield, Massachusetts if the contestant qualifies to go to the National Hoop Shoot.
