WYOMING SPORTS HALL OF FAME - The Wyoming Sports Hall of Fame will induct the class of 2012 Saturday night in Casper.
Three Sheridan residents will join the hall this year, they are brothers Blaine and Ben Phillips and Dave Edeen.
The Phillips brothers were multiple sports stars at Sheridan high school and played baseball for the Sheridan Troopers being part of state football and baseball championship teams.
They went on to play minor league baseball in the New York Yankees organization.
Dave Edeen was an All-WAC defensive end for the Wyoming cowboys during their league championship seasons in 1987 and 88 he is a Cheyenne native and currently he and his family live in Sheridan.
Other inductees this year include Wheatland high school and former University of Wyoming Quarterback Casey Bramlett.
Bruce Collins from Rock Springs played college basketball at Weber state and Sandy Jebens coached volleyball at Rawlins high school for 30 years winning over 500 matches and multiple state titles.
Longtime Wyoming American legion baseball state commander Paul Eastridge from Casper will receive the Hall of fame lifetime achievement award for his work with the youth of Wyoming.
This year's athlete of the year award will go to Brandon Nimmo from Cheyenne. Nimmo was a first round draft selection by the New York Mets last summer he was the 12th selection overall.
Nimmo is currently listed as one of the Mets top prospects ay mlb.com and is playing for the Brooklyn Cyclones in the New York / Penn league.
The Wyoming sports hall of fame banquet will be held in Casper Saturday night.
TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers now stand at 22-4 overall. They will be in Powell this weekend for a three day tournament they'll play five games against the host team, Williston, North Dakota, the Billings Halos, Cody and Lovell.
The Troops will play their next home game Tuesday when they host a single nine inning game with Casper that game will start at 5:00 and we will broadcast it live on 14-10 KWYO.
TRAIL RUN VOLUNTEER PICNIC - Organizers of the Big Horn Mountain Trail run will host a volunteers picnic this evening in Kendrick park for all the race volunteers the picnic will get started at 6:00 near the ice cream stand.
ROCKIES BASEBALL - The Colorado Rockies blew a ninth inning lead and lost 7-6 Wednesday night in Philadelphia.
