Bison B-ballers Fall to Sheridan, All Teams Head to Break

The last games scheduled for Buffalo and Kaycee high school athletes before the Christmas/New Year's break were the basketball games with Sheridan Tuesday night.
The boys fell to the Broncs in Sheridan 47-37 and the girls fell to the Lady Broncs at home 56-28.
The teams now sit at 4-3 for the year.
All teams will now head into the break and start play again the first week in January.
The Bison basketball team will play Wheatland at home Friday, January 6, the girls will play at Wheatland the same day.
Buffalo's wrestling team will be in Gillette Tuesday, January 3rd.

Bison Swimmers Take Newcastle Invite

The Bison boys' swim team, after hosting their triangular last Friday, traveled to Newcastle for their Invitational meet and won that meet as well.
The Bison won the meet with 387 points, ahead of second-place Douglas who had 358 points, and third place Newcastle with 159.
In the relay events, the bison won the 200IM, the 200 freestyle and the 400 freestyle, while getting fifth place finishes from their B squads in the 200 IM and 200 free.
Individually, Neil Medders won the 200 free and the 500 free.
Nate Holt won The 200 IM, and the 100 backstroke.

BRONCS / LADY BRONCS POST VICTORIES OVER BUFFALO

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan high school basketball both picked up victories over the Buffalo Bison and Lady Bison Tuesday night.

The Lady Broncs are 6-1 heading into the Christmas break as they had no problem beating the Lady Bison 58-26.

The Broncs stand at 7-0 and will maintain their number one 4-A ranking heading into the break but it was a struggle for a tired bunch of Broncs as they posted a 47-37 win over the Bison.

Head coach Mike Ibach says the Broncs ended a tough stretch of games and showed the fatigue last night.

SHERIDAN 8TH GRADE GIRLS CHAMPS

The Jr High 8th Grade Girls finished in first place on Saturday over the Sage Valley Eagles in Gillette. The game went to OT with Sheridan coming out on top for a season of 11-0.

Bison Swimmers Strong at Home Meet Last Week

The Buffalo Bison boys' swim team hosted the Buffalo Triangular last Friday at the Johnson County YMCA, and had many strong finishes from the team.
First-place finishes went to the 200 medley relay “A” team ofNate Holt, Timothy Cohoon, Wyatt Zegstroo and Neil Medders; the relay team of Justin Land, Matt Scarlett, Timothy Cohoon and Josh Cohoon took first in the 200 free relay; and the 400 free relay team of Holt, Josh Cohoon, Josh Dillinger and Medders took first in that heat.
Individually, Josh Cohoon won the 200 IM and the 100 free.

Rampage win at the Winter Classic

The Sheridan Rampage won the 6th grade boys division of the Sheridan Recreation District Winter Shootout this Sunday,Dec. 18th. They defeated the Billings Rebels in the championship game 50-25.

WEEKEND LOCAL SPORTS WRAP UP / COWBOY BASKETBALL TONIGHT

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan high school basketball teams won five out of six games in Green River over the weekend.

The Lady Broncs won Friday and Saturday after losing their first game of the season Thursday. Friday they beat Rock Springs 53-30 and closed out the weekend beating Evanston Saturday 46-29.

The Lady Broncs play at Buffalo tomorrow night the varsity game will tip at 7:00 you can hear it live on 95.9 FM.

The Broncs are ranked #1 in 4-A boys basketball and stand at 6-0 after three convincing wins at the Flaming Gorge Classic.
