2010 LOCAL SPORTS RE-CAP HEADING INTO THE HOLIDAY BREAK

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Broncs went 5-2 and the Lady Broncs 7-0 both teams will be back in action January 6th when they travel to play in a three day tournament in Riverton. they'll play Evanston, Star Valley and Riverton.

The Lady Broncs enter the break as the state's number one girls basketball team.

They were the preseason number one pick in 4-A they've held that for the last four weeks. Only one other 4-A team in unbeaten heading into the break that's Cheyenne Central.

The Broncs are 5-2 in December and the outlook is positive for the Broncs and look forward to 2011 Head coach Mike Ibach says the team just scratched the surface of their potential.

and he says they saw lots of good things at last week's tournament in Green River and have that to build on over the next two weeks.

RAMS / LADY RAMS BASKETBALL - The Big Horn Rams and Lady Rams couldn't have started the season any better combining to go 19-0. The Lady Rams are 10-0 and the Rams 9-0.

They both open the new year with road games at Wright January 7th.

EAGLES / LADY EAGLES BASKETBALL - Both the Tongue River teams have 5-2 records and are off to good starts with younger teams.

The Eagles and Lady Eagles both took two out of three in last weekend's Foothills classic tournament they open 2011 with home games against Moorcroft on January 7th.

BRONC WRESTLING - The Sheridan Bronc wrestlers went 4-3 in duals in December. The Broncs are off until January 7th when the compete in the Shane Shatto invitational in Douglas.

COWBOY BASKETBALL - The Wyoming Cowboys got their record to 7-6 last night with a 76-49 win over Centenary. The Pokes led wire to wire picking up win number seven and their third in a row.

They now have won four out of their last five games and look to extend the winning streak tomorrow when they host Wisconsin-Green Bay.
