BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football team had a bad stretch of 5:50 at the end of the 2nd Quarter with two turnovers, as Casper Kelly Walsh turned a 13-6 deficit into a 28-13 halftime lead. The Broncs would not recover in the 42-20 loss to open the season Friday. Head coach Don Julian. The Broncs will be on the road this Friday at Cheyenne East, and they expect to be a lot betterthis week. We will broadcast the game live on AM 1410 KWYO. Game time is earlier this week: the First Federal Pre-game show will start at 5:30, with the kickoff at 6 o'clock.

RAMS / EAGLES FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams and Tongue River Eagles joined NSI and Glenrock Saturday for zero-week scrimmages at Sheridan High School; all three Sheridan County teams looked good. Seeing their first live action of the pre-season, Tongue River head coach Chuck Walters says they've had a good pre-season camp. Last year, Walters and the Eagles played with several underclassmen; now they're a year older and expect better things this season. The Eagles open at home Friday against Hulett.

The Big Horn Rams also had their moments Saturday. Head coach Bert Dow says playing those teams is exactly what they needed. They started slow, but did get it going. They open with Greybull Thursday night at 7 o'clock at Homer Scott Stadium.

HS VOLLEYBALL - The Big Horn Lady Rams beat the Sheridan Lady Broncs two games to one in the semi-finals of the Riverton Invitational Saturday. The Lady Rams then lost in the Championship match against Powell. This week, the Lady Rams will play at another tournament hosted by Gillette Friday and Saturday. The Lady Broncs will play a match in Gillette tomorrow night, then it's back to the Razor City for the tournament Friday.

The Tongue River Lady Eagles will play at home Thursday night against Kaycee at 6:30. They will also play at the Gillette Invitational this weekend.

SC VOLLEYBALL - The Sheridan College Lady Generals volleyball team will play at home Thursday night against Dawson Community College at 7 o'clock. They host their own tournament Friday and Saturday.

RUNNING - The Sheridan High School cross-country teams had pretty good results in Casper. The Lady Broncs were 2nd as a team, with Dana Morin and Lela Carpenter finishing 1 and 2. The Broncs were 4th with Dylan Morin finishing 4th and Seth Ulvestad 6th. Thursday they run at an Invitational in Spearfish, South Dakota.

SWIMMING - The Lady Bronc swimmers finished 5th at the Gillette Pentathlon Saturday. This week they compete at a meet in Laramie Friday.

HS GOLF - The Bronc golfers made it 3-for-3 in tournaments this month, winning the team title in Cody. All five players finished in the Top 10: Kamrin Allen was 3rd, Cameron Lindell 4th, Chris Cremer 6th, Taylor Reed 9th and Toby Nicholas was 10th. For the Lady Broncs, Ashley Stevenson finished 9th. This week they play Thursday and Friday at the Worland Invitational.

NFL - The Denver Broncos lost 27-17 last night against the Chicago Bears. The game was televised by NBC; here's Al Michaels on the Denver fans' reception of former quarterback Jay Cutler. Culter threw for 144 yards and a touchdown. Next up for the Broncos is Arizona Thursday night, which is the final pre-season game. They open the regular season at Cincinnati September 13th.

UW - It's game week for the Wyoming Cowboys. Dave Christensen will coach his first game as the Pokes' head coach Saturday at home against Weber State. We will have the game live for you on AM 1410 KWYO starting with the Cowboy Pre-game Show at noon.
