BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football team is ready to embark on a new campaign tonight at Homer Scott stadium against Casper Kelly Walsh their nine game schedule is all conference games as class 4-A football goes to a ten team format for this season Broncs head coach Don Julian says by the time the season ends in November the champion will have really earn the title. One big plus for the Broncs going into this season is quarterback Austin Woodward is back as a three year starter Julian says that is a big benefit for the team and the early season strength of the Broncs is going to be Woodward and the guys he will get the ball to. Depth and inexperience up front are two areas of concern as they get ready to face Kelly and Julian says the Trojans option attack has given the Broncs fits the last two years. Bronc special teams should shine this season they have put in a lot of work knowing how important the kicking and return game can be. RAMS / EAGLES FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams and Tongue River Eagles will get their first live competition tomorrow when they host Glenrock for scrimmages at Sheridan high school action begins at noon the Rams open next Thursday night against Greybull while the eagles host Hulett Friday.

NCAA / NFL - The Wyoming Cowboys will open a week from tomorrow against Weber state and Sunday night the Denver Broncos play their third preseason game against Chicago broadcast time is 5 o'clock on KWYO.

HS SPORTS - the rest of our Sheridan county sports teams will be in action this weekend in volleyball the Sheridan college lady generals are opening a tournament today in Lamar, Colorado the Sheridan Lady Broncs and Big Horn Lady Rams will be in Riverton for a tournament today and the Tongue River Lady Eagles open a tournament in Lovell.
The Lady Bronc tennis teams have matches in Rapid City today and tomorrow also today the Lady Bronc swimmers and the Bronc and Lady Bronc cross country teams will compete in Casper.

SHS - Sheridan high school has named new head coaches for Bronc wrestling and Lady Bronc soccer and both names will be familiar with fans and athletes the new bronc wrestling coach you could say is the old bronc wrestling coach as Terry Burgess will take over this winter. Burgess was the Broncs head coach from 1984-1990 those were some of the best seasons in school history with three conference titles, two state runner-ups and one state title he is also a member of the Wyoming coaches hall of fame.
The Lady Bronc soccer team will also have a familiar face at the helm next spring as long time soccer coach and soccer supporter Tom Racette returns to the side lines in 2010. Racette was the first soccer coach ever at Sheridan high school coaching both the Broncs and Lady Broncs and was the head coach for the schools only state soccer championship with the Lady Broncs they also finished 2nd twice during his tenure.
