SHS TENNIS - The high school fall sports season is open and ready for business the Sheridan high school tennis courts were full of players yesterday as they get ready to open their season. this season two new coaches take over Liz Craft and Eric Askins will lead the Broncs and Lady broncs Craft says they had a good first day. The coaching transition was smooth with the old guard and new guard getting together this spring to help make sure the coach change went well for the players practice for the next two weeks they'll put in a lot of time to get ready for the opener on the 28th. The Broncs and Lady Broncs host matches with Riverton on August 28th.

SHS SWIMMING - The Lady Bronc swimmers and divers hit the water yesterday afternoon and will open two a day practices this morning. head coach Larry White says some of the returning Lady Broncs got in some good off season practice time and the Lady Broncs will start putting in the mileage to be ready for the the season opening meet and looking at the current roster white says the potential of this group is good for the 2009 season. The lady broncs open the season at the Casper relays August 28th

SHS BOOSTER BBQ - Next week on August 25th the Sheridan high school booster club will host the annual fall sports kickoff BBQ at the high school starting at 5:30 then at 7 pm the Cross Country, Swimming, Volleyball and Golf coaches will have their player / parent meetings.

NCAA FOOTBALL - We've heard from Wyoming Cowboys football camp about the Pokes new offense yesterday we heard about the defense from coordinator Marty English the third aspect of a football team is special teams head coach Dave Christensen says they aren't ignoring the kicking game.

NFL - The Denver Broncos made a minor trade yesterday sending a 5th round draft pick in 2010 to the New England Patriots for defensive end Le Kevin Smith. Smith was drafted by the Patriots in the 2006 draft the 6'3 308 pounder appeared in 28 games as a back up in the last two seasons his agent says he should be a good fit with the Broncos.

MLB - The Colorado Rockies get back into action tonight after and off day yesterday. tonight the “Rocks” open a three game series at the Washington Nationals.
