High school football practice opens Monday August 10th for the Sheridan Broncs last night the coaches started a four day camp for their players and youth football players. Head Bronc Don Julian says getting everyone together this week gets the football juices flowing again.Julian says it's fun for all the coaches and older players to have the younger kids at the high school and it's important for the Bronc football program to have good outreach with the elementary and junior high players.The camp continues tonight and will conclude with a high school team camp Thursday.
It's not only football camps this month volleyball camps for girls are coming up at Sheridan college July 27th through the 30th they will have two sessions per day the morning session from 8 to noon is for K-5th graders the afternoon session will run from 1 to 5 pm for 6th through high school seniors for more information and to register for the camp contact Sheridan college volleyball coach Jonea Rima at 674-6446 EX: 4002. Next month the Lady Generals will host a special Pre-season training camp with junior high and high school players that will run over two weeks the dates will be August 5th,6th and 7th then the 10th,11th and 12th that camp will have one daily two-hour session from noon to 2 o'clock..
The Sheridan county junior golf program will start their three tournament season next week. The first tournament will be played Monday morning at the Sheridan country club they play at Kendrick on July 27th and conclude the series at the Powder Horn August 4th the fee is ten dollars per player per event registration forms are available at all three courses.
The Powder Horn hosts the annual “Summer Hummer” golf tournament this week the annual event will have over 200 players competing they open tomorrow with a practice round and banquet with the first of three rounds of play opening Thursday.
The 2009 professional high goal polo season is underway at the Flying “H” polo ranch this week they play matches Thursday afternoon beginning at 1 pm on Saturday they play the “Century 21” cup at 1 o'clock they have matches every Thursday and Saturday afternoon the season runs through August 22nd.
