Day two of the 2009 Sheridan WYO rodeo is in the books and it was another great performance last night i n the rough stock events Joe Gunderson took the bareback riding with a score of 83 and takes the over all lead. Jesse Kruse and Ty Atchison scored 80's in the saddle bronc riding but Billy Etbauer still holds the overall lead with a score of 82 and in the bull riding last night Tyler Willis scored an 84 and takes the overall lead.

In steer wrestling Garrett Henry and Dane Hanna had times of 4.0 last night Travis Camine holds the average lead in tie down roping Doug Pharr had the fast time and leads the average.T he team of Luke Brown and Martin Lucero took the team roping the team of Brady Tryan and Boogie Ray lead the average. In the steer roping Shane Suggs leads the average and in the barrel race the overall lead is Teresa Walter with a time of 17.13.
Now we start our final day of rodeo action the final performance is tonight at 7 o'clock tomrrow the WYO rodeo committee has a great way for you to close out the weekend they host the tailgate party and polo matches at the Big horn Equestrian center beginning at 11 o'clock.

The local sports scene next week will have football and golf on the schedule. Sheridan high school football coaches are holding football camp Monday through Thursday next week and the largest golf tournament in Sheridan county begins at the powder horn Wednesday.

The bronc football coaches will host two camps Monday through Wednesday next week. the first session is from 5 to 6 o'clock each evening for all players from the 4th trough 8th grade the cost is 10 dollars and each camper gets a camp t-shirt. The second session in the evening will run from 6 to 8 pm and is open to all freshmen through senior football players. Thursday the week will end with a one day team camp six other high school teams will be joining the broncs for the team camp the bronc football team has one month before they open camp for the 2009 season. fall camp opens with “Two a Days” Monday august 10th.the broncs open the regular season with a home game August 28th against Casper Kelly Walsh.

The Powder Horn golf club will host the annual summer hummer golf tournament next week they host a practice round Wednesday .The tournament is a three day event with rounds Thursday, Friday and Saturday over 200 players will compete.

The Sheridan county junior golf program will play three events one each at our county golf courses, the first tournament will be Monday July 20th at the Sheridan country club. The junior golf program is for all boys and girls ages 8 to 17 the cost is ten dollars per player registration forms can be found at all three local courses. The 2nd event will be at Kendrick golf course July 27th and final event will be at the Powder Horn August 4th.
