WYO rodeo week is here as the 79th addition of the WYO gets rolling with slack steer roping Wednesday morning at 7 o'clock in the afternoon they will have the “Bob King” memorial team roping. Thursday morning along with steer roping there will be slack steer wrestling, tie down roping and team roping parimutual betting will take place both days on the roping events and all three regular evening performances.

The Boot Kickoff in Kendrick park tomorrow night really gets things rolling all the fun starts at 5 with live music starting at 7. The WYO carnival opens Wednesday at 5pm. Thursday night is kids night at the first WYO performance all kids 12 and under get in free with a paying adult(General admission only).

Friday morning the Kiwanis pancake breakfast opens at 6 o'clock. The Spurs and Sneakers fun run is at 8 o'clock followed by the Bed races at 9 then the 79th Sheridan WYO rodeo parade begins at 10 after he parade there will be an Indian a pow wow and dancing on Grinnel plaza. The Kiwanis Duck race on Goose creek starts at 1 pm both Friday and Saturday rodeo performances start t 7 o'clock. The week culminates with the Tailgate party and polo matches at the Big horn Equestrian center Sunday at 11 am.

The Sheridan Troopers will be on the road tomorrow at Casper there are only three weeks left in the regular season for the first time ever the state will have two post season tournaments, district tournaments will be played July 23rd-25th with the top four from each tournament advancing to the State championships in Rock Springs July 29th through august 1st.Troopers coach Ben Phillips says they have ten games to fine tune their play before the district tournament.The number one area is to get more consistent play.Tomorrow night they play two in Casper the Troops have won one and lost two against the Oilers this season.The Troopers will play one more home double header that final home date is July 18th against Rapid City Post #320.

The Flying “H” polo ranch is getting ready for another season of high goal professional polo. The 2009 season will begin with two preliminary matches Thursday July 19that 1 and 3 pm. The cup season begins Saturday July 21st with the “Meade creek cup” and the “Bradford Brinton" cup matches are played every Thursday and Saturday with the final Saturday of play August 25th.
