Before we get to the holiday weekend a couple of events will get started tomorrow the first is the annual Wyoming State Trap Shoot returning to Sheridan the event will run Wednesday through Saturday at the Sportsmen's club on Soldier creek road five hundred competitors are expected to be in town for the event.
Also tomorrow evening they will be holding the Big horn mountain trail run volunteer picnic in Kendrick park. The picnic is for all those who helped out at the 17th Big horn trail run they will hold the picnic in the park tomorrow evening at 6 o'clock.
We got through basketball camps in June and now as we head into July volleyball camps will take place. Two camps will be held at Sheridan college July 27th through the 30th.the first session each day from 8 am to noon is for girls k-5th grade and the afternoon session from 1 to 5 pm is for 6th through 12th grade players to register for the camp contact Sheridan college volleyball coach Jonea Rima at 674-6446 Ex:4002. in August they will have two sessions of junior high and high school training camp the first session will be August 5th, 6th and 7th the second session will be august 10th-12th the training camp will be two hours per day.
Sheridan WYO rodeo week kicks off Friday night with Blake Shelton live at the Sheridan county fair grounds next week the annual boot kick off in Kendrick park and the Craft brothers shows at the WYO theater really get things rolling. Rodeo events get underway Thursday morning with slack timed events. WYO performances will be next Thursday, Friday and Saturday night with the culminating event the tailgate party and polo at the Big horn Equestrian center on Sunday. Next Friday we will have comprehensive live coverage of rodeo activities from downtown Sheridan from the pancake breakfast through the parade.
Next Friday is July 10th and that will mark one month until the Sheridan Broncs open football camp. The season starts a week early this year as Wyoming class 4-A football has gone to a nine week regular season. The Broncs have been camping at the University of Wyoming already with more to come this summer and the players and coaches have been in the weight room since the school year ended head coach Don Julian.The Broncs are coming off an eight win season and a semi final appearance in the playoffs. Julian says the statistics show that students involved in activities at Sheridan high school are excelling in the class room as well.
The Sheridan Troopers have a home double header tomorrow night against the Cody Subs the first pitch will be tossed out at 5 o'clock. The Sheridan Jets will play two dates at home this weekend with games Saturday and Sunday with teams from Rapid City games Saturday will start at 2 o'clock and Sunday morning at 11 am.
The Los Angeles Dodgers cooled of the Colorado Rockies last night but it took extra innings the dodger's Andre Ethier hit a two run homer in the bottom of the 13th inning to beat the Rockies 4-2.
