The Wyoming all-star basketball teams are in Sheridan as they prepare for this weekend's annual series against Montana orientation and practice got started yesterday at the Hoffman dome. All-star veteran coach and Sheridan college women's head coach Frank McCarthy will head up the Wyoming girls team and he's brought back a familiar name to help out as long time coach Sandy Michelena will act as assistant. Sheridan college basketball coach Steve Smiley and his assistant coach Luke Wicks will coach the men's team for the first time and Smiley says he's learned that these all-star games are different than most other high school all-star events.He says the players will have fun this week and they know they are here to beat Montana. and with just a few days to prepare Smiley says they'll get a lot done in the next three days.The girls game tips at six Friday night with boys at eight. Tickets can be purchased at the door we will broadcast both games live on am 14-10 KWYO broadcast time is at 5:30.Rocky Erickson from the northern sports network in Billings will join me for the play by play.

The Sheridan Troopers are holding Trooper baseball camp this week after rain washed them out last week the camp runs through tomorrow. The Troopers stand at 3-8 overall and will play at home Saturday against Douglas. Action gets underway at 1 o'clock. The troops also play at home Monday against spearfish that's and early start at 4 o'clock.

The Sheridan Jets play a double header in Casper this afternoon they play their next home date next Thursday against Billings.

The NBA finals resumed last night in Orlando Florida the Magic had to win to avoid going down 3-0 and they did winning their first finals game ever 108-104.The Magic were lights out from the field hitting 75 percent of their shots in the first half and 63 percent for the game both are finals records. Game six will be played tomorrow night at 7 o'clock.

The NHL Stanley cup finals had game six last night in Pittsburgh. The penguins stayed alive and forced game seven with a 2-1 win over Detroit. Game seven will be played Friday night in Detroit. the Red Wings beat the Penguins to win the Stanley cup last year.
