Today we wrap up or coverage of the spring sports season with more from Sheridan high school track, Lady Bronc Taylor Gardner placed in all four of her events in the state meet with 2nd place finishes in the 400 meters and the 100 and 300 meter hurdles she concluded her performance by breaking her own school record in the long jump * The week of the state meet Gardner signed a letter of intent to compete in track at the University of Wyoming. Brandon Forister had a great meet for the Broncs placing in all three of his events the 110 and 300 meter hurdles and the pole vault * and with the way the season went down Bauers says it was the best season in decades for Sheridan high school track *

And we won't forget there were two other state champions at the state meet this year both coming from the Tongue River Lady Eagles, Hunter Vineyard won the 2-A girls high jump and Kristen Nielsen took the 2-A discus.

Class 4-A all-state soccer honors have been announced and three Sheridan Broncs have made the list junior goal keeper TJ Stender was named to the all-state first team, Gage Mckean was named 2nd team for all-state defenders and Zack Will was named 2nd team all-state for mid-fielders

The 2009 Wyoming high school all-star basketball teams will be in Sheridan in a couple of weeks. Next week June 4th and 5th the Wyoming / South Dakota all-star basketball games will be played in Gillette and Spearfish. Four Sheridan county girls will play for team Wyoming they are Katie Strandholm and Taylor Gardner from Sheridan high school along with Morgan Mines from Arvada-Clearmont and Sammie Perkins from Bighorn.

The annual Wyoming / Montana all-star series will be played in Sheridan and Billings June 12th and 13th with Strandholm and Gardner representing Wyoming in that series as well. the first night of games will be Friday June12th in the Hoffman dome at Sheridan college on Saturday June 13th games will be played at Rocky Mtn.college in Billings all four games will be broadcast live on our sister station am 14-10 KWYO.

The annual Sheridan media golf tournament to benefit the public arts committee will be played Friday June 12th at Kendrick golf course. The tournament is a four person team scramble, you can put your own teams together are sign up as a single. The fee is 60 dollars for the golf, cart and dinner. Proceeds benefit the Sheridan public arts committee is their effort to purchase more permanent art work for Sheridan. to register for the tournament or become a tournament sponsor stop by the Sheridan media studios on KROE lane or call 672-7421.

Game five of the NBA'S' western conference finals was played in Los Angeles last night the Lakers came from behind to beat the Denver Nuggets 103-94. The Nuggets held a seven point lead late into the third quarter but could not hold off the Laker rally now L.A. is up three games to two with game six tomorrow night in Denver.

Tonight the Orlando magic have a chance to close out the Cleveland Cavaliers in game five of the eastern conference finals. The Magic lead 3-1 and Cleveland must win tonight to force game game six Saturday in Orlando.

The 2009 season for the Colorado Rockies isn't even to June yet and Rocks find themselves 12 1/2 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers. Yesterday the Dodgers completed a three game sweep of the Rockies at Coors field. L.A. leads the division by eight games over San Diego. The Padres have won nine of their last ten and begin a three game series in Denver tomorrow. The grumbling has begun in Denver since they went 1-2 in a series at Atlanta last week talk of pressure on manager Clint Hurdle surfaced it is now the official Hurdle watch to see if he survives the season as manager of the Rockies.
