In weekend track and field action all of our Sheridan county teams ended the regular season.the broncs and lady broncs both finished 2nd at an invitational in Gillette they had five champions in six events Taylor Gardner won both the 400 meters and 100 meter hurdles, Lauren Buyan won the 800 meters, Lela Carpenter won at 1600 meters for the broncs Boomer Mclaughlin took the high jump and Kody Williams won the long jump. the broncs and lady broncs will compete at the east 4-a regional meet in Riverton tbe meet opens Friday.

The Big Horn, Tongue River, NSI and Arvada/Clearmont teams ran at the Sundance invitational for the girls Tongue River was 5th and Big Horn was 6th for the boys Big Horn was 1st and Tongue River 2nd.winners from the meet included Kristen Nielsen from Tongue River she won both the shot put and discus, Taylor Heaps from Tongue River won the 800 meters, Wyatt Mirich from Big Horn won the High Jump and Tim Mendoza won the discus for the rams. NSI had two champions in the sprints, Elgin Rose won the 100 meters and Dexter Currington won the 200 meters.the 1-A/2-A regional meet opens friday in Gillette.

In weekend soccer action the Sheridan Lady Broncs closed out the regular season losing at Riverton Saturday they lost that match 3-1.They host the east girls regional tournament which opens thursday at Homer Scott stadium they play in the 4 o'clock game against Cheyenne Central.Riverton plays Cheyenne East at 6 o'clock both are elimination games the winners advance to the semi finals.

The Broncs will play at the boys regional in Cheyenne thursday they open against Gillette in their elimination they split the regular season with each other with each team winning on the other teams field.

The 2009 Mars youth soccer tournament was met with some cold wet weather early saturday at the Big Horn events center but the weather cleared and they had a great day to finish up the event yesterday.over 1500 youth players from Wyoming, South Dakota and Montana competed in the annual event.Dave Debolt coaches one of the Sheridan teams and is also the Sheridan soccer association president he says the Sheridan soccer association is as strong as it's ever been and a lot of hard work went into pulling off the tournament.Dave Edeen coaches with Debolt and is the association's vice president he says this tournament is one of the best and biggest youth tournaments in the country and Edeen says they'll hold the mars tournament again next year 2010 will also have Sheridan hosting the Wyoming State Soccer Cup as well.

The Sheridan Troopers get back into action this week with road games at Gillette saturday.the Troops will play road games at Casper and Douglas at the end of may and their next home games will be June 5th against Casper.they have five home double headers in June.

Sheridan College Booster Club spring golf tournament will be played at the Powder Horn friday.it's the booster club's big spring fundraiser.it's a four person team scramble tee time friday is 1 pm.to enter your teams contact Sheridan College men's basketball coach Steve Smiley at 674-6446 Extention 4000.

The Colorado Rockies broke a four game losing streak by beating the Florida Marlins 3-2 yesterday at Coors Field.you can hear every Rockies game live on our sports station espn radio 93.7 fm hd channel two.Weekend Rockies games can be heard on am 14-10 kwyo.this coming weekend the Rockies play at Pittsburgh live saturday at 4:30 and sunday at 11 am.

The Denver Nuggets can close out the Dallas Mavericks tonight, the Nuggets beat the Mavs saturday with a Carmelo Anthony three pointer with one second to play they lead the series 3 games to none if Dallas extends the series tonight game five would be played tomorrow night in Denver.
