The Sheridan high school soccer teams played Gillette last night the lady broncs lost at Gillette 5-0. the broncs took an early lead but fell behind and lost 2-1 against the camels the broncs scored first and looked to have control of the game but Gillette was able to play their way back into it and score the winning goal in the second half for another disappointing one-goal loss for
the Broncs, head coach Kevin Riser says the broncs have been playing well but it's not translating into victories Riser says short lapses in concentration have cost the broncs in several close losses this season
now it's onto the regional tournament next Thursday in Cheyenne their season has come down to a one game playoff if the Broncs win that game next Thursday they know they will be in the state tournament if not their season ends.
The Lady Broncs will play a game at Riverton tomorrow to close out the regular season it's a make up game from April 4th that was snowed-out.the lady broncs host the girls 4-a East regional starting next Thursday two first round games will be played at 4pm and 6 pm at Homer Scott Stadium.the state soccer championships will be played at the big horn events center starting Thursday may 21st.

The University of Wyoming athletics department is preparing for budget cuts ranging from 2 to 15 percent.the Governor has asked state agencies to prepare those cuts.the U-W'S athletic budget for 2009 and 2010 is expected to be between 22 and 23 million dollars.about 43 percent of that comes from the state.AD Tom Burman says the department can handle a two to five percent cut in state money.Burman says a ten percent cut over four or five years would be catastrophic and might result in cutting sports programs.he says long term cuts of 10-15 percent would likely get discussions started about U-W'S status as an NCAA division one member.but he's expecting only a five percent cut.
