HAVING TROUBLE VIEWING OUR PAGES?

Here are a few general things to check if you are having trouble viewing the Sheridan Media web site

1 - Check your display settings:
The Sheridan Media website is designed to be viewed at a screen resolution of 1024x768 or higher. If your computer's display is set to a lower resolution, you will get some strange page formatting, and possibly hidden text or overlapping images. Most Windows machines allow you to change the display settings by right-clicking the desktop and choosing "Properties" from the small pop-up menu.

2 - Which web browser are you using?
Although our site is designed to function in most major web browsers, there are some differences in the way these browsers work. Our site displays best using the Mozilla Firefox or Netscape browsers. Internet Explorer has a few trouble-spots, including improper image resizing, and long delays when loading pages with imbedded flash content (particularly on machines more than a few years old). If the news page (containing the weekly poll question) is taking a long time to display, using the Firefox browser should reduce your wait time. You can download Firefox for free by clicking here.

Of course, the faster your internet connection is and the faster your computer is the faster the pages will load. As our website contains lots of audio and video, a broadband internet connection is extremely helpful.

3 - Video / Audio issues
Macromedia Flash 8, and Windows Media Player are required to view the audio/video on our site. Visit the Video Test page for more information.

HERE ARE THE RECOMMENDED MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR VIEWING THIS SITE:

1 - PentiumIII based PC with 256MB RAM / PowerPC based Mac

2 - Video display capable of 1024x768 24bit color mode

3 - Sound card

4 - Firefox or Netscape web browser (Internet Explorer will work, but is the slowest of the three at loading pages with audio/video content)

5 - Flash Player 8 and Java plugins

6 - 256K internet connection
