Darleen E. Anderson, 79, of Sheridan, passed away on December 11, 2007, at Sheridan Manor. Darleen was born on February 5, 1928 to Benjamin E. and Vera May (Miles) Allgire in Topeka, KS. She and her family moved to Big Horn, WY when she was 2 years old. Darleen graduated from Sheridan High School and went on to the Heiman Business School. She married Everett H. Lohrbach in 1943, then Donald M. Cline from 1949 until 1960 both of which ended in divorce. She later married Robert W. Anderson in 1977 and the two were married until his death in 1994. Here in Sheridan Darleen worked for the CB&Q Railroad, the forest service, the Silver Spur Café, and Ritz Sporting Goods Lunch Counter. She also worked in the Sheridan VA Medical Center nursing home where she made many friends. Darleen was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, JoAnn Allgire and Marie Scheuer; her brother, Donald D. Allgire; her husband, Robert W. Anderson; and her grandson, Zachary T. Noecker. She is survived by her daughters, Donna C. Lacy, Diana M. Cline, Denice M. Rollins and her husband, David, and Darice E.M. Rollins all of Sheridan; her step-daughters, Kristy Lewis and her husband, Joe, and Lisa Anderson both of Sheridan; and her ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. A viewing will be at Kane Funeral Home on Friday, December 14, 2007 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ward 2, on Saturday, December 14, 2007 at 11:00 am with Bishop Roger Brinkerhoff officiating. "Bud" Cover, 82, of Sheridan, passed away on December1, 2007, at his residence. Ralph was born October 4, 1925 in Thermopolis, WY to Ralph E. and Pearl V. (Duryea) Cover who homesteaded on Copper Mountain outside of Thermopolis. He attended schools in Thermopolis, upon graduating high school he joined the U.S. Navy; serving on the USS Denver during WWII from 1943-1946. Bud was on the USS Denver when it fired the opening shots at Leyte for recovery of the Phillippines. He lived in the Dayton/Ranchester area for many years and was the co-owner and owner of Western Signs and Custom Signs in Sheridan. He was an avid landscape and wildlife artist, enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Bud married Esther Severance on October 27, 1982. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy; and step-son, Michael. In addition to his wife Esther he is survived by his son James of Cody, daughter, Jeanette of Columbia, IL. and stepchildren, Holly Gupten of Dayton, Dennis McCarthy of Tucson, AZ, Terry McCarthy of London, England, Kay McCarthy of Las Vegas, NV, Patrick McCarthy of Lexington, KY, Carole Wagner of Ranchester, and Gary King of Sheridan. And numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We all will miss his sense of humor. Harry Jefferson "Bud" Eskew, 67, of Sheridan, passed away on December 6, 2007, at the Sheridan VA Medical Center from cancer. Bud was born on May 20, 1940 to Jerry Jefferson and Katheryn (Hughes) Eskew Owings, in Sheridan. He married Gwendolyn Joann Mortenson on June 29, 1959 after he returned from Korea. They had one daughter Penny. They were divorced and he married Maria Ninfa Gonzalez on January 12, 1979. Bud was very patriotic as you can tell by his flag flying over his house 24 hours a day except for repairs, since 9/11. Bud believed in our flag and our country. He was a dedicated soldier for twenty plus years. Bud spent twenty years in the US Army in JAGC. He received two bronze stars while in Vietnam, three Meritorious Service medals, three Army Commendation medals, five Good Conduct medals, National Defense Service Medal, US Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallentry with seven Campaign Stars, the Vietnam Service Medal, The Presidential Unit Citation. After retirement he returned to Sheridan and was employed at the Sheridan VA Medical Center for ten years. He then opened his own business and then went to work for Wal-Mart. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and living life to the fullest. Anyone that needed help he was there for them and we could all count on Bud to be there for us. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brother, Bill. He is survived by his wife Maria of Sheridan; brother, Tom of Casper; sister, Jerrie Lynn of Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and aunts and uncles. Godley passed away on December 2, 2007 at Westview Healthcare Center in Sheridan, Wyoming. Les was born on January 11, 1919 in Guymon, Oklahoma to JB and Eva Godley. He attended school in Elizabeth, CO and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado. He married Martha Froneberger in Charlotte, NC on June 10, 1945. Les was a former rancher, farmer, dairyman, teacher and business owner. After retiring in Colorado, Les and Martha spent their winters at Sun Life in Mesa, AZ. They moved to Wyoming in 1997 where Les helped on the ranch in Banner, WY. Les is survived by his wife, Martha of Sheridan, WY; son, Jay Godley (Carol) of Banner, WY; two daughters, Barbara Daugherty of Sheridan, WY and Sandra Peif (Jim) of Centennial, CO; five grandchildren – Marci Daugherty of Tuscaloosa, AL; Jason Godley (Kate) of Mountain View, CA; Jamie Moran (Pete) of Plymouth, MN; Spencer and Taber Peif of Centennial, CO and one great grandson, Riley Moran of Plymouth, MN. Adrienne "Adie" Irene, 83, of Sheridan, passed away on December 25, 2007 at Sheridan Manor. Adie was born on June 23, 1924 to Bernard and Carrie Mae Irene in Laramie, WY. She graduated from Laramie High School in 1942 and went on to attend The University of Wyoming. While at UW Adie was a member of the Pi-Phi Sorority. She also belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution In 1944 she married Warren Cowdin in Laramie, they were later divorced. She married Louie Irene in 1972, they ranched in the Leo, Wyoming community until Mr. Irene passed away. Adie retired to Sheridan in 1984. Adie was a Wyoming history buff, a great cook, and enjoyed music, flowers, her garden, and dragging meadows. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, who all knew her as "Boo". Adie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Bernice Fluty; her husband, Warren Cowdin; her husband, Louie Irene; and her special nephew, Olin Sims. She is survived by her children, John Cowdin and his wife, Sue of Medicine Bow, WY, Carol Mayfield and her husband, Bill of Casper, WY, and Cathy Bohnsack and her husband, Fred of Sheridan; her ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Benson of Laramie, WY; and her special friend, Gene Hauf of Casper, WY. McEdward, 78, of Sheridan, passed away on December 7, 2007, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Mary was born on February 4, 1929 to Earl and Janet Lamb in Detroit, MI. She married conrad McEdward on September 21, 1958 in San Diego, CA. Mary worked as a special education teacher in the Reseada, CA school district for many years. She enjoyed arts and crafts and loved visiting her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents’ and her son, Brad Richard Guyer. She is survived by her husband, Conrad of Sheridan; her children, Penny Church of Burbank, CA, David Guyer of Grants Pass, OR, Susan McEdward of Lakeport, CA, and William McEdward of Sheridan; and her two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ott, Jr., 57, of Buffalo, passed away on December 19, 2007 at the Sheridan VA Medical Center. Lawson was born on August 2, 1950 , in Boston, MA to Mr. and Mrs. Lawson R. Ott, Sr. He served his country in the US Army from 1970 until his honorable discharge in 1972. Interment will be on December 27, 2007 in the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD. Pine, Sr., 89, of Sheridan, passed away on December 9, 2007, at the Sheridan VA Medical Center. Julius was born on February 10, 1918 to John and Julia Pine in Niles, CA. He graduated from Washington High School in Centerville, CA (now known as Fremont) in 1939 where he was the only White Sweater winner with 4 varsity letters both in football and baseball for that year. Julius enlisted in the United States Army in 1942 and served during WWII in which he received an Honorable Service button and a Victory medal. During his military career Julius was stationed at Casper Army Air Base and Ft. Robinson and the European Theater. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He married Mary I. Mancini at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan on August 24, 1947 and they raised three children together. He was an avid golfer and loved sports. Julius was a coin collector, who loved to fish, hunt, spend time with his family, and travel. While in California Julius worked at a steel mill then at General Motors. He and his family moved to Sheridan in 1956 to become a partner with his brother-in-laws in Bino’s Grocery Store, where he remained until his retirement in 1981. Julius was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Clarence, Lawrence, and Weldon; and his sisters, Madeline, Margaret, and Julia. He is survived by his wife Mary, of Sheridan; his children, Julius W. Pine Jr. and his wife Lois of Laramie, WY, John D. Pine of Sheridan, and Cathleen M. Tucker and her husband George of Casper, WY; his five grandchildren, Margaret Pine, Julius W. Pine III, Lawrence M. Pine, Jennifer M. Tucker, and Andrea R. Tucker; and his great-grandchild, Adrian Zayne Gillen. Rosary will be recited at Kane Funeral Home on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 6:30 pm. Trentacosti, 87, of Sheridan, WY, died Tuesday, December 18, 2007 in Westview Health Care Center. Mrs. Trentacosti was born February 29, 1920 in Chicago, IL to Albert and Gertrude [Scholl] Vinke. She grew up and attended schools in Chicago, graduating from Fenger High School. Margaret moved to New York where she worked as a telephone operator. She returned to Chicago just prior to W. W. II where she continued her career as a telephone operator. She married John Trentacosti July 20, 1947 in Chicago. Mr. Trentacosti died in 1975, and Margaret moved to Sheridan, WY to stay with and take care of her father. Mrs. Trentacosti was a member of the Calumet Village Presbyterian Church in Chicago, was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #1156 in Calumet, IL, & was a past president of the D.O.E.’s in Sheridan, WY, Margaret enjoyed croqueting, knitting, sewing, playing cards, jelly beans, going to Deadwood, was an avid reader and cross-word puzzler worker. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 sister, and 2 brothers. Margaret is survived by four sons, Kenneth Trentacosti, of Sheridan, WY, John R. Trentacosti, of San Francisco, CA, Ronald Trentacosti, of Carbondale, IL, and Terry Trentacosti, of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Caryle Rudolph, of Sheridan, WY, and Barbara Vigoren, of Kimball, MN; two sisters, Anne Mossberg, of Homewood, IL, and Lorraine Scobee, of Spearfish, SD; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. Ridge Rd., Sheridan, WY 82801 Affectionately known as "Sarge", per his wishes there will be no services for Charley Sherman Winscot Sr, age 89, who died December 7, 2007 at the Sheridan VA Medical Center Hospice of cancer. Burial will be at a later time at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville. Charley was born a twin on June 29, 1918 in Omaha, Nebraska to farmers Sherman Richard and Loda Leona Winscot. On June 15, 1938 he married Louise Smith in Coalville, Utah. They had 4 sons and were later divorced. Joining the Army, Staff Sgt Winscot proudly served in both WWII and Korea and was the recipient of many medals including a Purple Heart in each war, the Silver Star and a Bronze Star. He still flew the flag, given him by his Mother upon his discharge, on every holiday. He loved his country, was honored to have served, and was grateful to spend his final days at the Sheridan VA among his brothers and have daily visits from his good friend Chuck Medina. July 11, 1953, only days before his discharge, he married the love of his life- his lifelong hunting and fishing companion, Johniev "Pet" Trollinger in Fort Worth, Texas. Together they lived in several states including many years in Ketchikan, Alaska; and Casper, Riverton, Shoshoni, Sheridan, Lander and Jeffrey City, WY. He was employed as a farmer, ranch hand, miner, powder man, mechanic, millwright, fishing guide, and machinist during his working years. He was an early stunt double for Gene Autry under the name Chuck North, a boxer, and a pilot who built his own float plane. A proficient outdoorsman, snowmobile rider, hunter and fisherman, he was a regular at garage sales and picked up used fishing equipment and bicycles to refurbish and give to neighborhood children. He firmly believed that all children should experience the joy of knowing how to fish and the outdoors. He and Pet spent countless days at Lake DeSmet and later Boysen Reservoir even though her Alzheimer’s was rapidly progressing. In September 2008 he moved from Riverton back to Casper to be nearer his niece and caregiver, Leila Blake. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Pet Winscot, four sons, Douglas of Puyallup, WA; Charley Jr. of Rigby, ID; Daniel of Glendale, AZ; and Raymond of Lakewood, WA; sister, Hattie Alice Sowers of Casper, brother Robert of Omaha, NE; his niece Leila Blake and her husband Gary of Evansville; nephew David Sowers of Dubois; and many other nieces, nephews, grand, great grand, and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister Charlotte Ermin Winscot (at birth); sister Lois North; brothers Ed and Earl North, and Martin Shomshor; and his favorite bird hunting Border Collie, Echo, on 12-3-07. In lieu of flowers or donations he requested that everyone he knew please remember him by taking a child fishing and fly their flag every holiday.
